As far as breaking the arm, you have to keep an open mind to those sorts of things. Sometimes they never heal correctly and can cause issues for life. I had to have knee surgery and it’s never been the same. High stress jobs can take their toll on the mind and leave someone with lifelong issues. As a bomb squad technician, even though I never saw combat, I had to do extremely dangerous tasks and had many close calls where I could have lost my life. That shit will sit with me forever.

Yes, some veterans commit fraud on the system, it’s not perfect. But to say you MUST serve in combat to get the compensation disregards the injuries we sustained in training, which is extremely common! Soldiers even DIE in training. Thats how hard and dangerous it can be.
