Capt. Christopher “Chowdah” Hill, the Commanding Officer onboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) during her deployment to the Red Sea against the Houthis in 2024 and Interim Commander of the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN‑75) once again during combat operations in the Red Sea in early 2025, has been approved for promotion to Rear Admiral. Maj. Gen. Davis accepts honor from the community while he dishonors God and the authority appointed above him in @SecWar. It has been nearly two months since SecWar ordered the removal of rank insignia from the chaplains' uniform. Somehow this two-star general cannot figure out how to get to a tailor and make that happen. Here he proudly accepts honor from the community while his uniform is a symbol of the contempt he has for authority. SecWar said that chaplain's are to be "Chaplains first and officers second." If this 'Chief' of chaplains cannot Make the Chaplain Corps Great Again, perhaps he should be neither a chaplain, nor an officer so that someone can fill the role who will.

Real talk—Memorial Day. This weekend is a tough one for a lot of us. It’s easy to find yourself in a dark place, asking “why?” Why them? Why not me? Why were we there in the first place? You’re allowed to do this, but I always tell people to focus on two simple things this weekend: 1. Remember them the way they would want to be remembered. 2. Do them proud. You can’t change the past, you can only move forward. Do it for them.
