Sea Point in Cape Town is getting a new luxury block with 127 apartments - and you can own the penthouse for a price tag of R44 million💰 Development details: • Development name: Dear Jean • Location: 33 Regent Road, Sea Point, Cape Town • Total apartments: 127 (Only 82 will go to market for sale) • Basement parking bays: 44 • The ground and first floors will be home to retail and restaurants. • Completion date: end of 2027 Apartment Breakdown: • Studios: priced from R2.55 million (size: 23m2 - 32m2) • Deluxe Studios: priced from R3 million (size: 31m2 - 41m2) • One-bedroom apartments: priced from R3.75 million (size: 37m2 - 90m2) • Two-bedroom apartments: priced from R6.55 million (size: 64m2 - 94m2) • Penthouses: priced from R14.1 million (size: 148m2 - 499m2) I tweeted last month about The Regent building being sold for R150 million in Sea Point by Kantey Commercial. The above are the official redevelopment plans for the building. From what I can see after reviewing the price list, all of the apartments have their own private balcony. Select apartments will receive parking bays, while additional bays can be bought at a price of R375 000 (including VAT). What caught my eye is that every apartment will come with air conditioning and double glazing. If you know Regent Road traffic, you’ll understand why this is non-negotiable. Developers usually make these “extras” optional, so it’s refreshing to see them included upfront. Other perks include: pools and jacuzzis in certain apartments (some penthouses will have a pool and a jacuzzi), a communal laundry room, a pet-friendly policy (yes, your dachshund is welcome), and shops and restaurants.
