One of the greatest things I ever witnessed from Elliott Avent had nothing to do with baseball. During COVID, when our friend and teammate Chris Combs was battling ALS in hospice, we were told we couldn’t go see him. @Elliott_Avent wouldn’t accept that. Here is the story…

Was leaving Oakwood pizza box some time ago & coach walked in & gave a pair of shoes to a guy working there.. simply bc when he ate there before the guy commented that his (nc state adidas) looked cool.. guy working was in shock, hadn’t asked him & it’d been weeks - hell of a man

@PackFanInNOVA @KiplingWolf A couple folks have told me. The focus is not the video and more on them knowing before today, which they did, and Hart should get the job especially since this has been planned.

If you're wondering how long Avent's retirement was in the works, I am pretty sure NC State did not just conjure up a tribute video in half an hour, with about 5 to 10 former players in it. Since this is planned, Chris Hart taking over should be a part of that plan, too.

They may not be on the field, but you can find @RyanMarohn21 and @DudanJacob still leading from the sidelines. The two spoke with @JesseMacTV and @SpecNews1RDU about their injuries and their fight to come back better than ever.

What’s even crazier is that he performed this famous spin move on the ankle that had been bitten by a copperhead just a few months earlier. He killed the copperhead and brought it in the hospital with him. 😂 absolute GOAT.
