#OTD, 23 March 1540, Waltham Abbey became the last monastery to surrender to Henry VIII. After demolishing the eastern choir and transepts, within a few years, the tower collapsed, and the church began to lean to the west.

Soho Records Centre, was located on the corner of Dean Street and Old Compton Street. Founded by Alex Strickland in 1958, it was a pioneer in record retail and a frequent stop for major stars of the era. It was later sold to Pye Records in 1965. Pictured in 1970.
