"I thank God I started chemotherapy and started feeling better after my first dose," Ashaba shares. Ashaba’s story continues, as he meets @PallCareERC serving in Mulago and Kiruddu Hospitals. We thank Ashaba for writing his experiences for us and will post more updates later!

"We had to ask a friend of my dad’s to drive us to Mulago Hospital and he did not come until 11:45 pm, so we traveled overnight! At Mulago, I was given morphine for my pain, put on oxygen, and my bone marrow was tested. After two days, the results came back: it was leukemia."

Ashaba, a teenager from Western Uganda, told us his story of being diagnosed with leukemia: “We were training for the school football competitions when I started feeling my heart pump faster than normal. I started failing to run, and I heard something like drums in my ears."

You may no longer see it in the headlines, but the conflict in Sudan is still going on. As the scale of the crisis continues to grow, the world must not forget the people of Sudan. bit.ly/3NxXmA0

We are in December and still seeing so much destruction and deaths in Gaza. From one healthcare worker to another, we could not imagine providing #palliativecare in such conditions.
