On #WorldHealthDay, established by @who, ICPCN highlights three studies in The Lancet that strengthen the case for children’s palliative care equity. How many children are suffering? A study co-led by ICPCN Chief Executive Prof Julia Downing estimates over 10 million children each year experience serious health-related suffering, 96% in low- and middle-income countries. 👉 sciencedirect.com/science/articl… Can they access the medicines they need? A Review and a Health Policy paper show essential controlled medicines remain out of reach for most children in LMICs, due to regulatory, service, and sociocultural barriers. 👉 Review: sciencedirect.com/science/articl… 👉 Health Policy: sciencedirect.com/science/articl… This evidence shows the suffering of millions of children is not inevitable — inequitable systems can and must change. Today, on a day dedicated to standing with science, ICPCN calls on the global community to act so every child can access the care they need. #StandWithScience #WorldHealthDay #ChildrensPalliativeCare #HealthEquity #PalliativeCare #LancetChild
