It was a bad bill that absolutely protected sharia cities. Having said that, I don’t think Mayes intended to do it and I’d urge him to be more thoughtful in the future about the intersection of religious liberty and Islamism. It’s a strange mistake for an AG candidate to have made, but I’m hoping he’s learned his lesson on it should he win the primary.

@chiproytx is one of if not the most principled small government conservatives in DC and it's a damn tragedy for the nation that he's not staying in Congress. He should be Appropriations or Budget Chairman, and would have made a fantastic choice for VP. And how do I know this? Because Chip had me monitor all of her public communications in the role of her leadership position to find an instance of when she used her leadership position against the interests of the majority of the caucus. As soon as I found one, I sent it to Chip and a couple of weeks later she was removed, because moderates couldn’t argue against it anymore.
