Deeply grieved to learn of the passing of Dr. A.P. Majeed Khan (90), the visionary Founder and Chancellor of Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education. A veritable doyen of education and philanthropy, his life was a resplendent testament to the power of public service. Through his tireless endeavours in healthcare and community development, he transformed the landscape of the region and empowered countless lives. My profound condolences go to his children, Shabnam Shafiq and MS Faizal Khan, who are akin to family to me. Having visited Majeed Sahib in the hospital, I was heartened by their accounts of improvement in his health when I spoke recently to them both, rendering this sudden loss all the more heart-wrenching. I have no doubt that his indelible legacy will continue to inspire not only them but generations to come. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
