I think of the UK as a second home, so this may be a bit tough.
UK healthcare is not free; it is paid for by UK taxes. It is also rationed - a dear friend in the UK recently died of a cancer that was easily treatable - but she could not get seen into to prevent the cancer from metastasizing.
In the US, we pay for health insurance and get regular annual check-ups. We have to take a much more active role to both stay healthy and be covered in case something bad happens.
Also, for an example, the US has 40 MRI machines per 100,000 people, the UK has 8 per 100,000 people.

@thekeyspleaze @Polymarket Check the latest stats. Brits have better dental health than Americans. Have for a long time.
English
@ArdentSpeakr @Polymarket Nonsense comparison. You would need to add in their state benefits, e.g. healthcare.
English

@Polymarket Average Americans can take 4 weeks unpaid vacation and still make more than average Brits.

English
@Akira19747 @Polymarket it's a lie. just compare the g20 instead to see it.
English

@Polymarket The brits are like the boiling frog who doesn't know until it's too late he's been cooked. Leftism has destroyed the UK...they just don't know it yet.
English
@Polymarket This is a nonsense comparison.
Why not compare us to the g20?
English
@Echo_333333 @owenk98 You're actually proving the OP's point. You're on a trajectory to earn that kind of money.

@anon_opin I'm a fan of 90s Ska.
How much new 90's ska came out this year?

If the UK joined the US as the 51st state.
We would be the poorest state in the entire union.
Mississippi which is portrayed at swamp dwelling hillbillies in majority of international media is above us.
I don’t think people grasp how far we’ve fallen in real terms when it comes to GDP per capita.
We’ve seen no growth for almost an entire generations.
We’ve seen our productivity decrease and our tax increases.
The average person on the UK, on £50,000 is less well off than your average Mississippi swamp dweller.

JUST IN: New analysis reveals Brits thought the UK ranked 7th against US states in income per person — it actually ranked 51st.

If, like me, you were born in 1956, you’ll receive almost £300,000 more in benefits than you’ll pay in taxes in your lifetime
State Pensions make up a huge chunk of that
Long term, we simply can’t afford to sustain the Triple Lock’s generosity

@DesmondSwayne I’m betting this calculation ignores inflation. Pay in at one rate and ‘withdraw’ at rates forty years later
English
@bulkeley_john @Ydoyoucare7623 @sentdefender That’s also a defensive action.
If you wanted nato involved, then for one nato would run the operation, not the USA.
English

@Ydoyoucare7623 @sentdefender And Ukraine wasn’t our war. It was a European war and we helped Europe by supporting Ukraine. Why is it NATO always seems to forget that fun fact.

U.S. President Donald J. Trump said on his Truth Social app that if any Iranian fast-attack vessels approach the now in effect U.S. blockade they will be “immediately eliminated” in the same manner that vessels operated by designated terrorist organizations in the Southern Command area of responsibility are.

English

@bulkeley_john @end3of6days9 Remember the last time you tried to take $1000 out of your bank account and cash and they required a two hour Q&A about it? Because you are an American.?
English
@LondonNewLibs You’re just restating the problem. That problem can be fixed.
English

The scaffold is up because building must be inspected every five years and it's installed if faults are found.
In many cases it's cheaper to keep the scaffold than fix the problem.
Inspections have been reduced to every six years (12 for new buildings) - great to see politicians owning a problem and escaping the Precautionary Trap*.
*The secret ingredient, as always, was trying.
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor
Hey New York, no one likes unnecessary scaffolding. Thankfully, we have a plan — and John Wilson is here to help break it down.
English

@LBC This is not the UK that any American who spent time there from 1939-1999 remembers. I don’t know what it is that you’ve done to yourselves, but from my view, your country has turned into a shithole, full of the worst people imaginable.

@adrianbold @RestoreBritain_ You’re trolling or dumb as shit. Either way, goodbye.

@Panimu @RestoreBritain_ So it was about my reply not the original post?
