✋ STOP SCROLLING FOR A SEC 🤚 If your parents are still alive and you have a relationship with them, call them today Better yet, do so on video so they can see your face and feel your love Yesterday I lost my father to cancer Although most people did not know, for the last 5+ weeks @BBF_luvs_Phunky and I have been his caretaker through his chemo treatments, trying to get him back to health Like all fathers and sons, we had a complicated relationship at times I blamed him for the breakup of our family when my parents got divorced when I was 11 But got our relationship back on track around the age of 20 As adults, we were much closer to an extent, but after his second divorce he moved to Florida, lived an hour away, but he hardly took the time to see me These last 5 weeks, though, were a tremendous blessing because we got so much quality time together despite the circumstances My wife is an absolute angel, too, as she was doing the bulk of the work as I juggled my two roles at GlobalStake and Ardent He celebrated his 76th birthday just 3 days ago, but it was bittersweet. For having been so healthy he was taken from us far too young. Just two weeks ago I told him after he finished his treatments we could celebrate my 50th birthday at our favorite steakhouse in Tampa with my brothers Life is far too shorts, my friends. If you’ve read this far, thank you. But don’t walk away from this post without doing what I asked of you at the start—call or FaceTime your parents today Express your gratitude Tell them how much you love them If they are close enough, pay them a visit and share these thoughts with them in person After all, whatever blessings you have in your life begin with them. They literally brought you into this world and for that you should be forever grateful As a parting thought, I’ll share a quote that I told to my Dad a few weeks ago.
