@parents4sos
We are 20 families bound together by the unimaginable: the loss of a child. We refuse to let any other family experience this devastation.

The House #KIDSAct made a major improvement by improving preemption language to protect states' child safety laws & litigation.Grateful they listened! Still, ongoing concerns are weak, ineffective provisions & loopholes for Big Tech in the bill. The Senate should pass S.1748 Senate #KOSA incl the core legal principle: a Duty of Care.

Meanwhile members of @parents4sos have come out to *back* the KIDS Act package. Groups including @AmerAcadPeds and @afspnational wrote a letter (link in next tweet) calling it an “important step toward strong online safety protections for children.”

Survivor parent: Comments are made that it’s parents’ responsibility to protect children online. Even the best parenting skills can’t fight these algorithms. I was the engaged parent yet this harmful content still found its way into my son’s phone. Parents can’t fight this alone.
