The call for the protest stated the following:
“Against the seizure of the church in Maharda and the removal of its crosses, and the seizure of the Shrine of Saint George.
Stop the violations against Christians.
Against interference in the freedoms and privacy of others.
Against the systematic killings and kidnappings taking place.
Against aggression toward others under any circumstances.
Against labeling everyone who holds a different opinion as "remnants" (fulul).
Against the silence of religious figures and others.”
The sit-in was organized and called for by the platform "Soldiers of Christ", and received a wide response.
