The state of this lion at the Assam State Zoo is a national shame. Skeletal, weak, and barely moving, this is institutionalized neglect, not CARE. We cannot look away. This is the reality of many animals behind bars. Watching this king of the forest reduced to such a pathetic state is a stark reminder of why we must fight for stricter zoo regulations and better oversight. No animal deserves to starve in a cage.
