A productive meeting was held between Thar Education Alliance and the School Education and Literacy Department Sindh with Moula Bakhsh Shaikh, Additional Secretary (PDF), Government of Sindh, to discuss school budget decentralization and the effective utilization of school-specific budgets. The meeting was attended by Moula Bakhsh Shaikh, Additional Secretary (PDF) SE&LD; Partab Shivani, CEO TEA; Tooba Noor, Strategic Lead TEA; and Sarang Ram, Program Manager NFE TEA. During the discussion, the team explored the provisions, powers, and opportunities available to school heads for utilizing school-specific budgets to improve school environments and strengthen teaching and learning facilities for students. It was encouraging to learn about the department’s proactive efforts in raising awareness across schools throughout the province through on-ground visits, while also facilitating school heads in addressing challenges and ensuring timely and effective use of allocated resources.
