The US has been very resistant of the term "femicide" even while it's use spreads in other hemispheres. I suspect it's because the term recognizes violence against women as an interconnected social problem rather than a privatized, "domestic" one

To the question: are all women awful? Women who don’t work on themselves are exactly as awful as men who don’t work on themselves. The difference is that we have had society for a while now telling women not to work on themselves while men still should.
