The Pasadena Public Health Department (PPHD) urges parents and caregivers to stop using ByHeart Whole Nutrition infant formula immediately. ByHeart products have been recalled and Pasadena retailers have removed the products from commercial shelves in Pasadena, including formula cans and single-serve “anywhere pack” sticks. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the California Department of Public Health Infant Botulism Treatment and Prevention Program are investigating a multistate outbreak of infant botulism linked to ByHeart formula. As of November 19, 2025, 31 infant hospitalizations have been reported across 15 states, including California, with no deaths. No cases have been reported in Pasadena. On Thursday, January 9, a drone collided with a firefighting aircraft, grounding it and disrupting operations. Drones can disrupt critical aerial firefighting operations, such as water drops and reconnaissance flights. Keep drones out of wildfire zones. If you fly, we can't!

🚒❤️ A huge thank you for your support of our firefighters! Thanks to your generosity and our ability to care for them, their needs are being met, and they’re well-fed and cared for. To help us keep things running smoothly, please avoid delivering perishable foods to incident basecamps, as we cannot accept them. Want to aid in the fire relief efforts, visit laworks.com/2025fires to find volunteer opportunities and new ways to get involved. #ThankYou #FirefighterSupport #CommunityLove #LAFires

I just signed an executive order to direct fast action to clear wildfire debris across Southern California and prepare for the heightened risk for mudslides in burned areas. The road ahead is going to be difficult, but we're doing all we can to help LA rebuild and move forward.

The City’s Public Works Department has begun collecting debris. The recent windstorm accumulated a year’s worth of green waste debris in just two days. We are working diligently to collect and remove the debris. Residents can assist in the clean-up effort by placing their green waste (branches, bushes, leaves, grass clippings, etc.) in their yard waste containers or on the street next to the curb. For more information on best practices, removal of non-green waste debris and more, see our full press release bit.ly/WindstormDebri…. Due to the massive amount of debris build up residents should expect a delay in the clean-up process. The estimated completion time to clean up the debris citywide is six to eight weeks.

If your home has been damaged after a disaster, you may be susceptible to scammers trying to take advantage of you during this vulnerable time. Be cautious before selecting a contractor or signing any document, and use available resources for advice. Follow these tips to protect yourself from being exploited: -Avoid rushing into repairs, no matter how badly they are needed. -Get multiple bids before selecting a contractor. -Be cautious about door-to-door offers of repair services or flyers that are left at your property. -Ask trusted friends, family, and associates for recommendations about contractors they have hired. -Get proof that the person you are dealing with has a contractor license for the type of work that needs to be done. -Get a written contract that details every aspect of the work plan. Contact the Contractors State License Board at 1 (800) 321-2752 to check a contractor's license or get further information on home and property pairs. More information is available at CSLB.CA.gov
