Young Kenyans in Engineer, Nyandarua County are frustrated by the time it takes to obtain their National IDs. Without an ID, they cannot register as voters. Without registration, they cannot vote. Kenyans are ready to participate. The Registrar of Persons must ensure that young people receive their IDs without delay. A National ID is the gateway to the ballot. Citizens must be allowed to exercise their constitutional right. That is the clarion call of the #UkatibaCaravan. @LingaiLili29539 @dkmaraga @chebii_joan #UkatibaMovement #UGMParty #Kumekucha

Attended the Joint Gender and Education Committee Meeting convened by the @KenyaGovernors where we reviewed progress and implementation challenges within existing intergovernmental frameworks for the Gender, Culture, Education and Children Services sectors. Discussions focused on strengthening structured National –county coordination, clarifying mandates, improving financing, harmonizing data systems and operationalizing sector coordination mechanisms to enhance planning, accountability and service delivery. I reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to collaborative, evidence-based approaches that advance gender equality, protect children’s rights, promote cultural heritage and support sustainable development outcomes. I was accompanied by PS @UmmiMBashir and PS @CarrenAgengo whose technical contributions reinforced the need for integrated, cross-sectoral implementation. I commend the Council of Governors for convening this important engagement and look forward to continued partnership in strengthening intergovernmental coordination for the benefit of all Kenyans.

🔵 LIVE | PACJA Perspective on Governing Global Just Transition Phillip Kilonzo, presenting on behalf of PACJA, brought clarity to what the COP30 outcomes mean for Africa — and where the gaps remain. His central point: equity language without delivery risks weakening global ambition. While COP30 reinforced a Just Transition Mechanism, it did not adopt an explicit fossil fuel phase-out roadmap. This creates a structural tension — progress on inclusion and fairness, but limited advancement on concrete elimination commitments. Phillip grounded the discussion in Africa’s realities: - The continent faces a persistent energy access deficit, even as it confronts growing climate vulnerability. - Africa must navigate a difficult development–climate balance, with industrialisation and poverty eradication still urgent priorities. - Transition frameworks must reflect differentiated responsibility — historical emitters and wealthy states must lead through predictable finance, technology transfer, and concessional support. He further stressed that renewable expansion alone is not inherently just. Justice requires: - Environmental integrity - Free, Prior and Informed Consent (FPIC) - Fair benefit-sharing - Clear fossil fuel exit timelines - Reform of fossil subsidies - Scaled and predictable climate finance The broader message from PACJA is clear: If the global transition is to remain credible, just transition mechanisms must evolve from principles into actionable, time-bound, and accountable roadmaps — particularly within EU–Africa cooperation. #PACJA #ClimateJustice #JustTransition #EUAfrica #COP31 #COP32
