@ManaByte If there is one man who does not have to prove he has balls, it's Alan Shepard

Alan Shepard tucked the two balls and the club head into a tube sock (or "at no expense to the taxpayer," as he later put it) and carried it in his personal gear. He stowed it inside his spacesuit or personal items before launch. This was done with NASA's knowledge and approval beforehand (though he kept it low-key to avoid any issues if the mission had problems). He only pulled it out at the very end of the second moonwalk, right before climbing back into the Lunar Module.

@ManaByte How did they play golf on the moon... In little to no gravity? With balls they took from their own home? Back in the day where technology wasn't that great.

@StargazerLzt @NASA_es It sums up modern culture when the way something is presented in the media becomes more important than the actual event

Tom Skinner will be representing Reform UK on BBC Question Time today in Clacton. He’s a great guy and will do a sterling job representing the good people of Clacton.

@MartinClunesUK Great performance.. but "the victim" (singular) excludes all of the children within the images. Can we do better remembering them?

@tennisjames85 it is a pain, sitting for hours, refreshing the screen but, compare that to the pain of getting up at 1am, queing for hours and hours with no guarantee of a ticket...the resale route is the way to go IMHO (and they are very generous on the rufunds if circumstances change)

Didn’t get lucky in the Wimbledon ballot? Don’t give up just yet. This is where the fun begins! Keep an eye on ticketsale.wimbledon.com — tickets pop up randomly. Tickets appear and disappear within seconds. Let me know if you need any help! Good luck 🤞 #wimbledontickets

@TheMonologist This keeps swapping with The Right Stuff as my favourite movie, similar themes re bravery/sacrifice/fear and, of course, seven outstanding characters.

"THE SWIMMER [1968] is a surreal, unsettling, and highly stylized masterpiece, featuring an unforgettable performance by Burt Lancaster, and directed by Frank Perry. It is based on the 1964 short story of the same title by author John Cheever. It follows a man’s delusional journey across suburban pools, which serves as a profound allegory for the decline of the American Dream, personal failure, and the loss of youth. A "suburban odyssey" that blends a dreamy, sunny aesthetic with dark, psychological undercurrents, it acts as a blistering satire of upper-middle class affluence, vanity and denial. The film is known for its dream-like, sometimes disjointed narrative, with some viewers seeing it as an interpretation of the descent into Hell."

@benonwine Like the late Queen, it's pretty much impossible to have a grown up/rational discussion about Churchill in the UK. For many, he has achieved almost God like status. Any attempt at a more balanced view is simply shouted down.

This absolute idiot with no understanding of History or who Winston Churchill was and what he did made this RIDICULOUS comment on BBC Question Time. 👇👇👇👇 “Churchill’s character, if you really really look at it in depth he wasn’t the great man he professes to be”

Muslims are reportedly calling for a ban on eating in public during Ramadan because it “tempts them”. Sorry, but Britain doesn’t work like that. You’re free to fast. You’re free to pray. You’re free to follow your religion. But you don’t get to make everyone else live by it.

WAR MACHINE is a solid entry in the Netflix action movie canon. It’s like PREDATOR if the Predator were a Transformer. Alan Ritchson is a badass for the ages. Producer Todd Lieberman is on a roll between this and THE HOUSEMAID.
