BREAKING: Democratic Senator Elissa Slotkin warns that the Trump Administration will place ICE agents at polling stations across the country for the midterms.

OBAMA: “The other side does the mean, angry, exclusive, us/them, divisive politics. That's their home court. Our court is coming together.” 🤔

To my House and Senate colleagues: Jack Smith seized my phone records, wanting to know who I called and where I was, violating my privacy and the separation of powers when I was the Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman. But he didn’t just do it to me. Jack Smith and his team also targeted members of Congress, including the former Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy, and hundreds of conservative groups aligned with President Trump, like Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA, the Republican Attorneys General Association and the America First Policy Institute. In total, 430 groups and individuals were targeted and more than 190 subpoenas were issued by Jack Smith’s team and the Biden DOJ in potentially the most egregious political weaponization of law in American history. If House and Senate Republicans want a debate on whether or not we should open the courthouse door for conservative groups and individuals, and members of Congress who were potentially wronged -- consistent with Congressional ethics rules -- I welcome that debate. Along these lines, I had a very good conversation with Speaker Johnson who does, in my view, want to open the courthouse doors to people wronged and hold Jack Smith accountable. He wants to expand the ability to sue to more people, not less, consistent with Congressional ethics rules. I share that view. I am going to be expanding who can sue. We’re going to give everyone in the South Carolina delegation the chance to open the courthouse doors to conservatives who were targeted by Jack Smith and the Biden DOJ. I believe what Jack Smith fears the most is a bunch of good, conservative lawyers seeking discovery and justice for their clients. If you want to be the Republican protecting Jack Smith from being held accountable for his potential misconduct, be my guest.
