How long before you can apply for Paraguayan Citizenship? 🇵🇾 A known married couple are working with one of the best lawyers in Paraguay, applying for citizenship right now. They’ve been here nearly 3 years, two on temporary residency and several months on permanent. I’ll be keeping a close eye on their case, and if they are successful, I’ll let everyone know. That would be great news for everyone still on temporary residency. We’re in new territory here, and 'NO ONE" yet knows exactly how the court will decide. By law, you can apply after 3 years of residency (Article 148 of the Constitution). Many say 3yrs on PR, and that may be the end result, But when does the clock start? TR or PR? 🤔 There’s no clear Case Law yet. We can only hope and assume, due to conflicting clauses that it may be: • 2 years on Temporary Residency (TR) • 1 year on Permanent Residency (PR). *This is based on “radicación en el país” (residency), as defined in the Constitution, which Always Prevails. And the fact this well esteemed Lawyer is confident in the application, gives everyone on TR much Hope. Requirements for Citizenship: 1️⃣ Be 18+ 2️⃣ 3 years of residency(yet to be defined by the courts). 3️⃣ Work in a profession, trade, or industry in PY 4️⃣ Good conduct / Clean PY police record Stay informed with "Plan B Paraguay"🇵🇾.
