The 🇨🇦 Army is making the Caiman our standard helmet but the exciting news is how. Rather than launching a lengthy procurement, we're using existing NATO framework contracts.
Up next? We need to start using procurement as a service contracts to manage basic clothing & equipment.

This is why it matters how Canada spends 2% of GDP on defence - not just that we spend 2%.
NATO has specific force requirements, and it is looking for more from Canada.

One of the best shows I've ever seen.
If you haven't seen it go watch it. It's a perfect sci-fi show (also super weird!)

I've fired plenty of times, but few of the younger Sgt's I work with, and none of the MCpl's, ever have.
So the capacity to understand that capability is extremely limited.

@MidOfficer I often think about the capacity constraint "whatifs" if we suddenly got the funding to do things we used to do.
Reserve regiments have a shortage of NCO's that can ARSO an unconventional range due to the training system no longer qualifying Sgts for it, for example.

Given that Canada struggles to field a medium weight army of only 3 regular brigades & barely 1 tank regiment between them, is it time for a radical new design?
For example, could we accept our money, mass & force projection shortfalls & just train light recce & attack drones?
