The grandslams and diving plays are great and all... But, I'm honestly more proud of him for stuff like this.

Monday night at the @CleGuardians game was a small moment between innings that I will never forget. I have been dealing with auto immune/arthritis issues, and my hands/wrists have always been the worst of it. I had gone to Occupational Therapy recently and... (cont)

@jdickson93 @DreKnott Hey Jake! This post made my day! I took a screen shot of it and sent it to Daniel! I told him to keep looking out for you in the center field bleachers... So, you better start bringing your glove, Buddy! Go Guards!

It stung for a second, but for a moment I felt like I was myself again able to use my hands the way I used to, normal. Thank you Daniel Schneemann for tossing the ball to me, it really meant a lot more than you know! I dont know if he has a Twitter so I will tag @DreKnott ☺️

@JacobsFieldRBW Haha! We love the game but it seems to never love us back. Sometimes it feels like an abusive relationship... We keep on thinking it will change, but it always reverts back. Why do we continue to love this game?

Enjoy baseball? Goodness no, I watch my team out of stubbornness, habit, and the fear that I’ll be called a fairweather fan, like my father before me, and his father before him.

Fascinating article detailing the true value of Patrick Bailey. We might be seeing the movie Moneyball playing out in real time right in front of our very eyes. "People are overlooked for a variety of biased reasons and perceived flaws..." it's the defining quote from Moneyball. In Bailey's case, that "biased reason" would be an over inflated emphasis on a player's offensive contribution - his hitting. But, "do we care if a player gets on base from a hit or a walk? No, we don't." Or, in Bailey's case, do we care if a player adds 1 run at the plate or removes 1 run from behind the plate? No, we don't. I'm not suggesting offense & defense are of equal importance. They're not. Offense is clearly more important, but its easy to over inflate that importance & ignore the importance of removing runs from the equation. And, that's where "Bill James and mathematics cut straight through it." At the end of the day, baseball is a simply a mathematics equation, and Patrick Bailey just might be one of those "misfit toys" that brings Cleveland its first World Series championship in over 70 years. Go Guards!

The Cleveland Guardians recognize what the San Francisco Giants clearly do not: Patrick Bailey is one of the best catchers in baseball. Our Leo Morgenstern breaks down why Cleveland came away as winners of the early-season deal: justbaseball.com/mlb/guardians-…

Daniel told me Chris Roller was the best defensive outfielder he had ever seen play. Roller ended up debuting with Brewers in early 2024 but was DFA'd pretty quick. Bottom line... Anyone who plays at the Triple-A level is UNBELIEVABLY talented! The best of the best of the best! That's why Big Leaguers always show so much respect for guys in Triple-A. They know how good they really are... The difference is razor thin.

@PatrickThePi Chris's brother coached my son's youth team in Texas. Chris stopped in a few times just to talk baseball with the boys. Great guy (and it is a small world).

DeLauter-Bazzana-Messick-Aleman is already the best rookie class this franchise has ever had and we could still see Ingle and Ralphy by year’s end

@Marxmao1312 2 n's!!! It's been happening my entire life. I even reminded the uniform maker about the 2 n's and they still got it wrong. Ugh! Actually surprised the MLB got it right 😁.

@PatrickThePi Don't hold your breath for tonight's game. (On Apple which I don't have anyway) but looks like a wet one. And might not want to do a double Saturday as there's the Cavs game and big concert at football stadium. Downtown's gonna be a mess.

@Marxmao1312 W Yeah.. we got some burners on that list! Bazzana's speed has really impressed me. And possibly our fastest baserunner isn't even on the list yet... Speedy Petey! Wait till Savant gets a stop watch on him! Dude can fly! Love this team!

1 of the pillars of Guard's Ball is to put pressure on the defense & run the bases aggressively. Sometimes it works great & other times it doesn't. Last night was a perfect example of both. Schnee getting thrown out at 3rd in the 6th inning & Hedgy at 2nd put outs on the board & removed baserunners. But... Hedgy & Halpin's double steal in the 5th inning & Josey's steal in the 8th basically accounted for all 3 runs. Those 2 baserunning plays basically won us the game. And they were both risky! Hedgy Stole 3rd!! It doesn't get any more GUARD's BALLSY than that! It's easy to 2nd guess those decisions with the benefit of hindsight. And, I'm not trying to run cover for Schnee. Trust me... I was screaming at the TV... "What were you thinking!" But, having thought about it... despite the outcomes, it was probably the right call. It's Guard's Ball and it's all he knows.

@Marxmao1312 @JacobsFieldRBW Yeah... others have pointed out to me that Cade's been using that pitch more often this year. Somehow I missed that. The one he threw last night was dirty. Last yr Cade was one of the best set up guys in baseball. This yr, I think he's gonna be 1 of the best closers.
