UPDATE ON DISCORD SITUATION On November 15 at approximately 4:00 PM EST, the official Meta Signals Discord was compromised. By 8:30 PM EST, the attack was contained. Invites to the Discord remain paused while we conduct a full audit. The attack was coordinated to occur at a time when our Dubai and Southeast Asia–based team was most likely offline. One team member became aware of the incident and managed to post an alert on X a little over an hour after it began. AN APOLOGY To anyone affected, we sincerely apologize. For over two years, we have operated the Discord safely and without incident. Multiple third parties are now assisting to ensure that this can never happen again. Until their work is complete, invites to the Discord will remain disabled. THE DAMAGE The attackers gained control of the official Meta Signals Discord invite URL. That link now redirects to a scam Discord server prompting users to click a link to “verify.” Do not click this link — it is malicious and designed to steal your funds. We are awaiting assistance from Discord Support to recover our official URL. The attackers immediately removed all admins and flooded the Discord with scam links and DMs promising free NFTs and other giveaways. These links have since been deleted, but they were likely designed to drain user wallets. Over two years of chat history across multiple channels were deleted. We are awaiting a response from Discord Support regarding possible restoration. HOW IT HAPPENED Our initial audit indicates that a third-party software tool used to verify NFT ownership and grant Discord access was compromised. WEBSITE / NFT MINT / X ACCOUNT REMAIN SAFE Neither the Meta Signals website (metasignals.io), including the NFT mint page (metasignals.io/nft), nor the official Meta Signals X account were affected. NFT minting continues as normal. FOR CURRENT MEMBERS Many users were banned after calling out the scam links being posted. If your account was banned, please contact us at metasignals.io/contact Access will be restored in the coming week. FOR PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS You can still mint the NFT at metasignals.io/nft. Discord invites will remain paused until our final audit is complete. We expect to reopen the Discord later this week. VERIFYING NFT Once the Discord is opened, until further notice, to verify NFT ownership and request Discord access, please contact us at metasignals.io/contact. GENERAL SAFETY GUIDELINES 1. Ignore all DMs, especially those containing links. 2. No member of the Meta Signals team will ever DM you directly. 3. Official announcements are made only by the account: metasignals 4.
