I don’t think people realize how absurd this is. Scottish runner Josh Kerr just broke the mile world record in 3:42.66, an average speed of 16.2 mph. Most people couldn’t even briefly reach that speed, let alone sustain it for an entire mile.

A mother suffered a medical emergency going 60mph, totally unresponsive, with her little boy strapped in the backseat... ...a total stranger saw what was happening and used HIS OWN CAR to pin her SUV against the barrier and bring it to a stop, SAVING THEIR LIVES!!! His name is Paul Jackson. On Tuesday, Paul was driving down I-5 near Fife when he saw a white SUV cut across THREE lanes of traffic and start bouncing off the concrete divider... Over and over. He pulled up next to it and looked inside. The driver was out cold, eyes rolled back in her head, completely unresponsive at highway speeds. In the backseat he saw a TERRIFIED little boy strapped into his car seat. "Somebody had to do something." So Paul did what almost nobody would do: he used his own car to gently pin her SUV against the barrier and slowly squeezed it to a stop. He slowly and carefully... glided her car to safety. Then he jumped out, threw the car in park, got the little boy to safety, and stayed with the mother until EMTs arrived. Paul was on his way to pick up his wife's BIRTHDAY CAKE when all this happened. He sent her pictures from the scene as proof he wasn't making up an excuse for being late. 😂 "Had to have proof for my wife." When asked why he did it, Paul didn't hesitate: "God put me there to do that, I knew I was going to stop this vehicle no matter what." THIS IS THE AMERICA I KNOW!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Over the last few days, my wife and I sorted through all the toys in our house, setting aside dozens to pass along to family or donate. Nerf guns. Little People. Buzz Lightyear. Toy dinosaurs. Hot Wheels tracks. A Teddy Ruxpin. Boxes full of worn plastic that my kids no longer want or care about. And yet, I’m having a surprisingly hard time letting them go. Not because I want or need any of it, but because giving these toys away feels like closing a chapter of my life that has brought me more joy than I ever knew was possible. The chapter of little boys and chubby toddler girls. Of hearing “Daddy!” every time I walked through the door. Of tiny hands reaching for mine and small bodies climbing into my lap. To most people, they probably look like nothing more than a couple of boxes filled with old junk. To me, they are boxes filled with treasured memories. That, and a few painful regrets that I didn’t spend more time down on the floor playing with my littles while I still could. I blinked, and that time was gone. And as I sit here typing this, I feel more than a little broken.
