I don't really understand why this is so complicated to understand. The offense has been designed terribly. All season long. Jalen Hurts has had a below average season, but has been pretty awful the past couple of weeks. I trust Hurts more because I've seen him compete & win at the very highest level. I do not trust Patullo because his offense has been terribly designed all season long. There needs to be a change at OC, even if it is not all his fault. I think this is incredibly obvious.

A glaring issue with the Eagles offense is the operations. Play gets to Hurts with 15 seconds on play clock, he goes to wristband and finishes reading with 10 seconds left. Get up to the line, point out Mike, adjust protection, and snap it just before clocks hits 0, allowing the front 4 to get a tremendous jump almost every time while also causing lots of offensive penalties. This was identified very early on in season and hasn’t gotten any better.

Absolute brain dead decision to call a timeout there after that awful first down run decision by Dallas. Let them regroup and get the yardage to win the game. Nick Sirianni’s in-game decision making is as bad as it gets. Truly terrible.

Eagles had zero business losing this game if they operated like a team that tried to win after going up 21-0 instead of just playing not to lose.

Chad Ochocinco says he can tell exactly what route AJ Brown is going to run based on his alignment before the play, and names them: "If I know it, and I'm not watching film and just watching games on Sunday, what do you think those across from him are doing?" via @NightcapShow_

The Eagles are running hitch routes at a historically high rate in 2025 Despite being 30th in NFL in total routes (since they run often & keep players in to block when passing), they have run the 2nd MOST hitches routes in the entire NFL Hitch routes serve two main purposes: -Hit them on the break, especially vs. zone -As an influence route to grab a zone defender The problem? The Eagles rarely throw at the break, they only use the hitch as an influence route when running wrap-in ("Bow"), and they have hitches on the backside that are smothered by the time the progression gets to them. Hitches are great, but the volume and method in which the Eagles have deployed them is actively hurting their offense. (thanks to @BrendenDeeg_ for data)

My take on the whole Derrick Gunn report: 1) The 2 specific plays mentioned on the postgame show weren't a Hurts issue. So the criticism could be valid, but the examples being used aren't, which leads me to believe there isn't much credibility to the report to begin with. 2) It is possible that Hurts doesn't want to be used as a runner, isn't comfortable throwing over the middle of the field, etc., and now that the run game isn't very good it is putting a ceiling on the offense that wasn't there in the past. But I just don't see the son of a coach who has publicly stated he likes to be coached hard refusing coaching unless he knows the guy giving it is in way over his head (something Hurts seemed to indicate way back before Patullo was promoted to begin with). 3) Multiple offensive players have complained publicly about the offense and the procedure (how slow they break the huddle) 4) If you are asking me to pick a side between the guy who outplayed Patrick Mahomes in 2 Super Bowls in a 3 year span or a 1st time OC who has demonstrated poor route concepts and play sequencing, I know which side I'm backing. At the end of the day, you can't know for sure from the outside, but I trust the guy who has been awesome for several seasons under different play callers more than I trust an anonymous report leaked by Pevin Katullo

Two weeks in a row, the #Eagles defense played against the team that led the NFL in EPA/Dropback coming into the game. They scored 16 points, combined.

A.J. Brown said he won’t apologize for talking about his frustration on a Twitch stream Tuesday. He said “if you have eyes” you can see why he’s frustrated and that he is pushing for the offense to improve because he wants to win and make an impact. Here’s part of his comments:

#Eagles HC Nick Sirianni on his decision to go for it on fourth and six with just over 30 seconds remaining: “I stand put on that decision, especially being up three, cause if you go up six, they’re still going to need a touchdown…” His full explanation:

It’s too bad they didn’t fire Kevin Patullo during the mini-bye instead of wasting that 10 day break, 2 more games, and your bye week to still be stuck with the same loser play calls and procedure.

The Eagles tried to lose that game in every way imaginable but somehow won, 10-7. It wasn’t pretty but Philadelphia improves to 7-2 and will host the Lions in Week 11.
