@m1nt9reen @Lord_Sugar I believe all fines are fixed £100. Task is to win; e.g. if 9 items were sought and let's say all 9 would cost me £101+ to buy, I'd buy zero & go get cappucino! Any contract where it costs money to deliver it is, quite simply, a contract not worth signing! No profit=no contract

TONIGHT on #TheApprentice it's the discount buying task - again! This is take 2 because on week 1 in Hong Kong both teams made such a mess of it. So I really need to see which of them CAN actually negotiate - an essential quality for a businessperson.

@_HistoryShorts Note also; In the Nore Mutiny of 1797, Bligh was an officer who was NOT asked to leave his ship - even though over 100 other officers were removed. If he had been a hateful character, a brutal officer or 'tyrant' then the seamen would surely have had him removed also? 😉

@_HistoryShorts There's no firm evidence Lt. William Bligh was a 'tyrant'. There is on the other hand much evidence which suggests he was a great leader, considering the health & welfare of his crew. After the mutiny his skill & leadership saved every life except one - killed by an island native

@_HistoryShorts I've read a lot of Bounty accounts and seen all 3 films several times. This account, by the man himself, includes a forward which presents a more considered understanding of Bligh and is one of the better accounts.

In acknowledging #slavery the @UN should also recognise illegal slave trading conducted by African Barbary Corsairs against UK; who kidnapped 10's of thousands of people from South Coast towns & villages & took them TO #Africa. All slavery is evil @BBCNews bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@NOBLEINTHENORTH @BBCNews But you see, 'Natural ENGLAND' can't focus on all 3 countries in the Mainland UK. So it generated an English only path, and someone in Natural England can maybe get a gong. Say whatever you wish, I'm cynical of a system which kisses up. I also think the honours system is a joke.

@NOBLEINTHENORTH @BBCNews There's zero reason to name a joined up coastal route, except to create a legacy for a Royal (and someone to get a gong) The coastal paths were all fine as is. You also misunderstand: 'short sighted' as 'his' path could have focused on ALL 3 countries and been Great Britain'

@BBCNews Methinks someone in 'Natural England' might be hoping for a title or a gong this summer. Wait and see!

@BBCNews 1) You can't 'walk all the way around England's coast' (i.e. as a circular route) as you'd have to cross Hadrian's wall. A bit short sighted, 'he' should have added Scotland and Wales 2) The #Cumbria section is and always will be the #CumbriaCoastalWay, *not* King Charles' path!

@MoveTheWorld Only in #China could a mind conceive of such a show for entertainment! A country that probably has the worst record in the world w.r.t. #animal cruelty and abuse. They have even been known to spray paint #pigs to make them look like a different, more valuable breed!

A tourist venue in China has halted shows which portrayed a staged 'macaque execution' after receiving international criticism. The show had macaques hooded and restrained who would fall to act as if they had been shot. No animal should be exploited for tourism.

@ProtectTheWild_ Utterly shocked, not sure how I've never heard of this. And I can't believe such horror can be happening in the 21st century. Inhumane beyond belief, we've no right whatsoever to think we can brutally murder babies of another species like this! @RSPBScotland @scotgov #scotland

The Scottish Government petition to end the Guga hunt — a so-called “tradition” in which men bludgeon gannet chicks to death on a remote Scottish island — has now surpassed 100,000 signatures. Thank you to Rachel Bigsby for setting it up!

Lib Dem Council boss filmed scruffing his dog by the neck in children's park – refuses to resign Salisbury City Council leader Samuel Charleston was caught on video lifting his adult dog by the scruff of her neck at a park near Old Sarum Castle, causing her to dangle in the air while his own young children watched in tears. Witnesses confronted him after he ignored the dog’s recall and shouted “it’s just a dog”, sparking fury online with people calling him a coward and demanding he step down. Charleston later admitted the action was “not the right thing to do” and blamed “ignorance not malice”, saying “we all make mistakes”. He has refused to resign despite the backlash and has reported receiving threats. Credit: Daily Mail.

@ciwf @kfc @NandosUK #animals are treated simply as blobs of meat with a head on top; is this what the human race has come to? Choosing to breed life with a sole aim of neglecting its welfare, to get it fat quicker, is NOT sustainable. Sadly humans are their own worst enemy; we deserve extinction!

Companies, including @kfc and @NandosUK, have backed out of their pledges to stop using fast-growing breeds of chickens, preferring to stick with breeds that have been bred to suffer. 😠
