@RobCross247 @RMcGreevy1301 Furthermore, surely there are many more than 140 derelict sites in Dublin? Is anyone accountable for this situation and if not, why not?

Dublin City Council could raise about €11.9 million by applying a 7% levy to the 140 derelict sites currently on the Derelict Sites Register (before any interest on unpaid levies). If levies go unpaid, interest accrues at 1.25% per month, which would add roughly €148,000 per month on a €11.9 million total. 3.0 Dublin City Council — Derelict Site Register 🔗derelictsites.com/3-0-Dublin-Cit… #HousingCrisis #DerelictIreland #Dublin

@GerBrowne4 Ger, is this book different to Doherty’s “Irish Men and Women in the Second World War” - published in 1999? There also seems to be an : “Irish Volunteers in the Second World War” published in 2000….? I am wondering are these all the same content and just different titles?

‘In the Ranks of Death’ refers to a 1946 letter to the Times by Gen Hubert Gough🇬🇧 expressing frustration at the UK Government’s🇬🇧 reluctance to acknowledge the debt of honour due to the 165K volunteers from Éire🇮🇪 who came ‘unasked to the aid of the UK in it’s blackest crisis’.

@frank_oconnor Does this sort of property fall within scope of government’s new “vacant homes” tax?

@lichamber This is welcome, but what action are you taking about the thousands (far higher than 33k) derelict homes - in prime locations in our cities, towns and villages? The impact of action and overall ROI is potentially huge. #DerelictIreland

#CMAM21 #plantbased “If the current position on plant-based RUTF had been followed, the Wright brothers would have been blocked from flying despite their success in the early 1900s– because their previous attempts had failed.” Dr Steve Collins, speaking at the CMAM21 Conference.

@DavidMcredmond It seems that a once-off Cabinet level appointment is now warranted - to lead and be responsible for maximising fast effective vaccine roll out. Person with ability, authority and resources to address barriers – and to ensure that our requirements are met on supply.

UK accelerating vaccine rollout. Can we do same in Ireland? Govt more positive saying 4m vaccinated by Sept: could strong, focused leadership bring the 4m target to end-June? Hundreds of businesses could be saved if we are open for Summer. thetimes.co.uk/article/whiteh…

A challenging presentation by Dr Steve Collins @CGDConference noted that “vested interests” are stifling innovation & disgracefully preventing implementation of scientific evidence reducing product cost by around 20%, & transforming the numbers of malnourished children treated.
