@elonmusk It does apply, Elon. The fact that no foreign race has ever displaced native Europeans from their lands makes that distinction utterly pointless, unless the point is an exercise in xenophobic race-bating. Great use of “Antipodes,” though. Your thesaurus game is on point today.

If one is to use the term “First Nations” or “Indigenous Peoples” or “Native Americans” in the Americas and Antipodes, then, in fairness, it should also apply to English, French, Spanish and other such peoples in Europe

@allenanalysis Of course it did. Now, if it had been a black church or any other church besides a white church, then the judge would have signed it, and people would be convicted.

🚨 BREAKING: The DOJ has withdrawn its request for arrest warrants against Don Lemon and four others over the Minnesota church protest after judges refused to sign off. The federal push to force arrests just collapsed.

@gtconway3d I can’t help wondering how she was treated as a 15-year-old.

@DonaldTrumpnq A. Not even close. Makes Harding look like a choir boy, makes Bush 43 look like Einstein, makes Andrew Johnson look like Martin Luther King, Jr., makes Buchanan look like Carnac the Magnificent. and makes Taft look like Fabio.

@rockoncali It’s incredibly rewarding, as a narrator, to develop my performance along with them, but there are also pitfalls which, occasionally trip me up. And I’ve also grown as a narrator since the first books were produced in 2014-2015. Thanks SO much for listening! (4)

@rockoncali The way Joshua develops his stories throughout a series of books (OF is now on #17), is so rich and satisfying, because he reveals deeper and deeper layers of hi characters, and allows them to grow organically. (3)

@PaulHeitsch Good evening! Kind of odd question but I’ve listened to audiobooks narrated by you for years. I just looped back to go back to the beginning of the OF series and there have been more character voice variations than I remember. I can only imagine 10+ yr of novels (1)

@marelette @RadioFreeTom One can be annoying and right at the same time. In fact, those two properties are, for the most part interchangeable. The trick is to filter your annoyance and focus on how right or wrong the argument is. You’re welcome.

@RadioFreeTom I don’t understand the thesis of any of these guys. The British guy gets all dismissive and posh which is annoying. All of them are annoying

Experts proceed from foundational knowledge, work, experience, and rules of evidence. The layman does not; thus, this exchange is pointless. "I can present myself in a public forum as equivalent to an expert because I have a mic and strong views" is the problem.
Syd Steyerhart@SydSteyerhart

>Don't you think it's weird, saying 'I'm not an expert' and then talking about things that other people have expertise in? DAVE: "No, I'm a free American and I'll talk about what I want." This is a bigger distinction between British and Americans than we give credit for.

@BillKristol I am convinced that the overwhelming majority of the American electorate is ignorant, uncurious, and fiercely parochial. How we crack that nut is anybody’s guess.

Lots of reasons for the vote: Incumbents are unpopular! Biden had a low approval rating! Harris did this or didn't do that! Etc., etc. I don't quarrel with the analyses. But to understand is not to excuse. No excuse for the American people voting to make Trump president again.
