@semicoop Certainly I’ve done this myself 🤣. Allows for flexibility. A variety options for different player counts, length and complexity, means I’ll have a suitable game I can pull out for any gaming situation. Only seems a wasted effort if I play zero of my own games.

My new Brighter Shores quest is live. It is called The Zatapajra Beast. I for some reason agreed with @FenSamuel to dress thematically for the launch.

Back in 2005 I played this quest without a guide in order to approve it for release into the game. I found the challenging puzzle very fun and satisfying. I’ve enjoyed seeing Guzu have a similar experience to me as I was disappointed a lot of players just found it frustrating.

@helring True I can see good arguments in retrospect that we could have dialled back that element of the quest.

@PaulJGower I think the main problem with it was the monsters scattered throughout trying to attack while you solved the puzzle. It added a ton of frustration for minimal benefit to the quest.

@tomgrove1996 It’s tricky as people have very different levels of what they find too frustrating. You get away with more if you make a game like The Witness, which is billed as a dedicated puzzle game. If you go to that level in an MMO you’re catering to quite a small % of your audience

@PaulJGower How does one find balance in making “puzzles” for games you think? You want people to have fun ultimately, but for some the “frustration” IS fun. However, I’d imagine that’s a rather select group of people, me included lol. 🤓

@OliverWilton Everywhere I can see on that interface it will display things worth 1040 copper as 1 silver and 40 copper. (Because 1000 copper equals a silver)

@PaulJGower Hi Paul. If you sell food to the head chef (bacon sandwich in this example) it will give you 520 coins. I sold two for 1040 but on the display it shows 40. Anything over 1000 it only displays three digits, i.e. 1500 would show 500. Cheers.

Servers are no longer crashing anyway. Touch wood. 👉🪵. We are of course now looking at a number of smaller issues affecting small numbers of players. -which is kinda how we expected to be spending day 1 of early access.
