The Ockenden Review exposed failings in Nottingham's maternity services, and at @CommonsHealth we heard from @gmcuk about the urgent steps being taken to improve safety and care. Accountability is essential, and we will keep pressing for the urgent changes that families deserve.

This week, @CommonsHealth heard from @gmcuk. I pressed the Chief Exec on lessons from the Ockenden review. The largest inquiry of its kind found 7 breaches in safe care at Nottingham University Hospitals' maternity services. We owe it to families to ensure this never repeats.

@PauletteHamilto Absolutely right Paulette. We are very grateful for the capital help we have been given but we need a fairer sustainable funding solution for hospice care. It absolutely makes sense as pressure on acute beds grows and the government looks to move more services to community care

For years, hospices have faced severe financial strain and job cuts due to an over-reliance on charitable donations to fund vital care. The £125m capital boost is welcome, but we must go further. No hospice should face a funding crisis that undermines essential palliative care.
