Tonight on CBS News 24/7 Prime/Time, I talked about the impacts Hurricane #Melissa will bring to Jamaica, Haiti and Cuba this week. This will be the strongest hurricane on record to hit Jamaica — the last major hurricane to make landfall was Gilbert in 1988.

NHC forecast track for #Melissa looks disastrous for Jamaica. 48+ hours on the right-hand side of a major hurricane? Yikes. Wind damage would be substantial with this scenario, but I’m more concerned about the potential for literally FEET of rain.

Just to put a bow on the storm from earlier this week — not bad at all for mid-October!

Tornado Warning for San Luis Obispo county, from San Luis Obispo down toward Santa Maria. Potential waterspouts offshore could move in as tornadoes. We may see a few of these tonight and tomorrow across So Cal.
