Yes, they are getting much more than they bargained for. This was my concern the other day when they launched amid a pick-up in solar activity. They need to get outside the Earth's magnetosphere as quickly as possible. Dealing with a radiation storm along with the enhanced radiation belts outer zone during a geomagnetic storm will not be fun.

@EricTheSpaceCat @astrophoto1976 I know there have been discussions in the past about what to call this kind of stuff. You could argue they are a failed blue jet of sorts ( or blue starter), but I don’t think these were anywhere near close to jetting- not the right kind of storms. Cool nonetheless 🙂

I found an interesting feature of one of the lightning strikes I captured on video this morning.
I do not think it is a blue jet but it looks interesting.
The cut off of brightness is not due to rolling shutter as it is perceivable across multiple frames.

@PaulMSmithphoto For sure it’s a fake. Unless the sprite was massvrly brighter than the background which seems unlikely. Tiny lens on security cam likely too slow to capture one anyhow.

This one appears to be fake to me. The jet angle is totally wrong, there appears to be image manipulation in that area, and the Jet morphology is bizarre

Notice how the solar day jet cruises the equator every day?
Now look at the equator of the geomagnetic field at the Core Mantle Boundary.
That seems to be a direct connection from the sun to the core.👇🏼

@WeatherProf Considering the magnetic field at the CMB seems to split at the equator, and the day jet seems to have similar bands that just happen to dip at the South Atlantic anomaly, it seems there are electromagnetic influences involved here. Establishment science needs to address this.

Facts about gigantic jets based on evidence :
They are found mostly in the tropics due to the atmosphere there. Storms have a rapid evolution and unbalanced charge structures. This is also where the ionosphere is lower.
Zero evidenced-based connection to sun or magnetic field.
