Just spent an excellent three days in Nairobi with the @ACORN_AMR team, reviewing preliminary results, planning further analyses, and proposing next steps for the network.

@ACORN_AMR presented the main results of the AMR surveillance project, showcasing high-quality data on the burden of AMR in low-resource settings across 19 sites in 9 countries. By connecting microbiology lab data with patient outcomes, they are helping to close data gaps

MRSA (methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus) rates are going up globally. Many low resource settings don’t have access to vancomycin or therapeutic drug monitoring BUT cotrimoxazole is widely available and cheap.
