Pan-Asian realities are much the same in both the 20th and 21st centuries. The balance of power in Asia is nonexistent, and if one power gains an advantage then the geography and cultures of the area would make it very difficult if not impossible to form a balancing coalition. So any attempt at Pan-Asianism would simply be Japanese imperialism in the 20th century and Chinese imperialism in the 21st. Very interesting stuff.
