A life of music. Now just me and my son working on a flying bicycle.

I recently switched from beer to vodka screwdrivers, specifically with Ketel One, and boy, what a difference. The screwdriver is a healthful, youthful drink. I wake up the next day refreshed; skin taut, body lithe. What a change from dark, heavy beer -- a world of difference!

Theres apparently* a Rumi quote that goes: "Make everything within you an ear, each atom of your being, and you will hear at every moment what the Source is whispering to you" Regardless of whether one believes in something correlating to “Source” or not, I believe it is a beautiful practice to “make everything within you an ear.” That is, to learn how to approach life primarily through the lens of receptivity and sensitivity. To listen out for the subtle melodic messages embedded within every moment of experience. In this way, our experiences, our life and all the people around us all become teachers who we are students of. In my own experience, the more we do this, the more sensitive we come to the various subtle currents of life and being. We can start to experience much of the intelligence embedded in experience and life that we usually crowd out with our constant thoughts and constant activity. Some times these currents may seem to come from within, sometimes from without. Increasingly, as we learn to listen well, the distinction between within and without will start to collapse. —— *I say “apparently” wrt the Rumi quote as apparently a lot of Rumi quotes are not very faithful translation, esp often downplaying the Sufi tone of the original (eg I would guess the word being translated here as “Source” is likely either the Persian “khodā” or the Arabic “Allah”, both of which obviously have more loaded connotations than just “Source.”
