@LaurynJL I had a critique partner tell me that too. It depends. In most informal dialogue contractions are expected. But they can be overdone too

@PauleneTurner If something doesn’t ring true to me or seem possible I may not continue reading. Though I don’t like giving up on anything. It’s the same with movies. A writer can always ensure to create a believable world even if it’s a fantasy story. A combination of imagination & research!

What is your pet hate in a story, something guaranteed to make you put the book down, or sour your feelings towards the book. Is there any coming back from that for an author?
