If you think it’s a coincidence that Manchester United signed Ederson for €45 million and Napoli also reportedly triggered the clause to pay Manchester United €45 million for the permanent transfer of Rasmus Højlund within the space of 12 hours, I can tell you it’s not. Manchester United reportedly have £170 million allocated for midfield signings this summer. With the Højlund deal effectively covering the Ederson fee, it means the club could still have the full amount available to strengthen the midfield. Expect Manchester United to push for both Matheus Ederson and Sandro Tonali in the coming weeks if the reports are accurate. Both deals would reportedly falls comfortably within that budget.
