@ransompewitt @TheAndyCortez @Daniel_Wylde_ …were indeed bad. Nowadays, games are longer, reviews are longer, and we also create video reviews, so it makes sense to cut out the no-brainer bad stuff that readers aren’t interested in. The result is that there are more positive than negative reviews. Seems okay, no?

@ransompewitt @TheAndyCortez @Daniel_Wylde_ Sometimes, people champion games because they’re great — rarely would the opposite be true (eg: this is so bad, we have to warn people). Some 20 years ago, we reviewed more shovelware — people didn’t read them because they didn’t need anyone telling them the games that looked bad

Too many people think this is like grade school where a 69 and below is a failing grade.
5 is average, 6 is fine/okay, 7 is good, 8 is great. Glad our scale is like IGNs because if a 7 was considered a BARELY passing score (a 70 or a D in school) and 0 to 6.5 meant a failing grade, that's way too much real estate on the scale to grade a bad game. I don't need that many levels to let you know how badly a game is failing.
I prefer to have more space on the scale to describe a game I genuinely recommend or enjoy.

Genuinely asking: what can we do to make even more explicitly clear what a 7 means on our scale.

@jcampanozzi87 @TheAndyCortez Where in the Stellar Blade review does it say that he didn’t finish the game? It says the opposite, incl. how long it took. It just says that NewGame+ was added via patch after the review posted. I looked at the Days Gone one and it references 60 hours playtime for the campaign.
English

@TheAndyCortez There have been a few times recently that the reviewer did say in the review that they didn't finish the game. IGN has been insanely inconsistent for a while with the reviews that they do. Days Gone is a prime example of that. Steller Blade in another.

@amiiboAlerts Blech. I guess her hair is a bit of a challenge to get right (for Switch 2, as well). But was hoping for much better.
