@paulg As I understand it, though, the 100m rating isn’t the same as diving 100m. Garmin’s description of the 100m rating is that it’s good for “splashes, rain or snow, showering, swimming, diving into water, snorkeling, high-speed water sports”. There’s a separate rating for scuba

Before I took up scuba diving I used to wonder why my watch only claimed to be waterproof to 100m. Now that seems ridiculously deep. If you're deeper than that, chances are you're not alive anyway.

I think generally the skills necessary to be a good engineer (evaluate and anticipate risk) are a little disruptive in other contexts (getting ready for a nice vacation)

@tacertain I had wrist surgery ~8 years ago after which I _could not_ bend my wrist at all. I had to switch to a Kinesis Freestyle split keyboard to accommodate my arm and I was blown away at how comfortable I became - even in the non-injured arm. I can't use a non-ergo keyboard at all now

For me, getting a keyboard that allowed me to keep my wrists completely straight was critical. I then spent a couple weeks on my laptop due to traveling for a personal issue in 2020, and I still haven't recovered fully.

I haven’t seen the trailer for Scream VI. I imagine a scene where the character on screen tries to exit, terrified. The audience in the theatre hoping to help, screaming: “ESCAPE COLON Q !”

Holy smokes, @Disneyland! 5 of 7 rides attempted at California Adventures are non-functional today. What gives? Half our day so far is wasted

You’d think that @GoZwift would have let me know when I was in the app scheduling the ride. Instead, I’m like 6 mi from the end and it says my free trial ends in 10 km. I would have been pissed if it kicked me out before the end but, I had just enough time to finish the route 🙄

Ok so I start the final stage of the Tour de Zwift on @GoZwift this morning and I see this weird message saying I only have 25km to go. I have no idea what this means so ignore it. Turns out my bank card expired (I already have a new one) and I forgot to update my subscription

@korinreid I don't know that any of my kids enjoyed anything as much as their toy kitchen at that age. Putting things in cabinets, taking them out, putting them in the oven, taking them out, putting them back in the cabinet... it's like zen for toddlers

Time to refresh the toys….what do y’all recommend for a 14 month old. She loves to play with and build stuff with her set of giant Legos. Will probably also get the love everly subscription box.
