Following huge outcry about roads in Waterfalls, gvt and council officials combined and brought wheelbarrows and shovels to try fix a road in Waterfalls!
The Chief Murinye issue with businessman Philimon Mutangiri is disturbing as it reveals the depths to which we are falling as a country in terms of respecting our own cultural values. Mambo haatukwe and in the case where one has an issue with him there are ways to deal with the matter and not offensive and vulgur insults.
Zimbabwe is a special country which has very strong cultural values and ethics. There are certain boundaries which we never get to cross and insulting a Chief is one of them. As the President of the Zimbabwe Village Heads Association (ZIVHA) and on behalf of other traditional leaders we will never accept such vulgur behaviour against a traditional leader.
It's unfortunate that we have parents who are supporting a school leader who exhibits such atrocious behaviour. It already foretells the environment into which your kids are going and the kind of people they will grow into. Even if the Chief was wrong there was no room for such and action should be taken against Mutangiri.
It is very ironic that someone who has built illegal structures which are not recognised by the relevant RDC or Ministry department has the attitude to insult and attack a Chief who is merely defending his community.
Some of the issues Mutangiri cited, such as installation of power and roads are social corporate responsibilities which don't bequeath him any special rights for wanton behaviour! His school is criminal evidence which should drag in the Ministry and RDC how it came to be operating yet without relevant papers.
For such projects in rural areas the law is clear. For communal land, there should be a letter of no objection from the
responsible Headman or Chief, in addition to the RDC permit while documents showing community consent absence of land disputes must be attached to the EDIA form.
None of this was ever done. Yet the same people who lament about corruption in the country want to defend him today. It shows how we are not sincere about some of the issues we lament about. Mutangiri must first regularise his business instead of attacking the Chief whose concerns are very valid.
"I just don't think they're going to win anything this year."

"You can't push him off the pitch," he said. "You cannot do that, you idiot.
"That's so poor. I'm surprised the Liverpool players haven't gone over and had a right pop at him. I think an apology is needed."
I think @GNev2 is the idiot in all this, "pop at him", Who?
FOREVER CHERISHED IN OUR HEARTS…❤️
Yesterday I joined my FAMILY to celebrate the 5th year MEMORIAL of my late mother. Since her passing in 2021, it has arguably been the most DIFFICULT period of my life. The deep emotional WOUND has never healed and the gap you left is IMPOSSIBLE to fill. There is NOTHING in this world as priceless as a MOTHER’S LOVE, and each year it remains so painful to accept that you are no longer with us 💔. I always take time to REFLECT on how you stood strong for your children after my father tragically passed away in an accident in 1990 which completely changed our lives. You NEVER lost your FAITH and you continued to sacrifice yourself day and night, always assuring us that with PRAYER we would overcome our tribulations 🙏🏼.
The MEMORIES remain vivid of how you used to cross the border to S.A kunotengesa MADHOIRI just so that we could live a decent life. Growing up, it was always my greatest PRAYER that if God ever BLESSED me to become successful, I would make you the PROUDEST MOTHER on earth, because you taught me the PUREST form of unconditional love. It remains my greatest HEARTBREAK 💔 and sorrow that today, the best I can do is to celebrate you in MEMORY, and pray that God grants you the PEACE that you always prayed for together with your fellow parishioners at St Gerard’s Cathedral Church.
During the precious time which the Lord allowed us together, you taught us to WORK HARD, to love one another, to PRAY without ceasing and to always remember where we came from as our UNITY and HISTORY make us better people. You taught me DISCIPLINE and FAITH, and you always reminded me of what my late father hoped I would become when I grow up. I wish you were here today to witness how everything you taught me has shaped me into the MAN that I am, because I AM WHO I AM today, BECAUSE OF YOU. Yesterday we visited your new home in honour, celebrating the LIFE and BLESSING that you were amongst us, and in deep pain I relived your SOFT‑SPOKEN words and your CONTAGIOUS SMILE that always gave us HOPE for a brighter future.
On this special occasion that we celebrated the LIFE of my beloved late mother, CANISIA CHIVAYO, I am reminded of how deeply she LOVED her Church, and how fully the Church recognized her dedication to the Catholic faith. I remember how PASSIONATELY she spoke about projects to make the Church self‑sustainable so that it can fund its ECUMENICAL programs, CHARITY works and spread the GOSPEL to all corners of the world. In honor of her devotion, I humbly extend a heartfelt donation of a BRAND‑NEW 2026 TOYOTA HILUX double cab valued at US$75,000 to the Church’s Head Priest FATHER BUSHU, together with a small CASH DONATION of US$250,000 which i went and personally deposited into the church account towards the implementation of these outstanding projects. I am honored the Church leadership accepted this humble gesture as my small way of appreciating the ROLE the Church played in strengthening my Mother’s FAITH and supporting our family during the painful period when we lost her.
My eyes are still filled with tears😭, but my heart is COMFORTED by the Holy Spirit that we shall one day meet again in the GLORY of our Lord Jesus Christ.
May your dear soul continue to REST IN ETERNAL PEACE Amai vangu ❤️❤️❤️🕊️✝️🙏
ZIMBABWE constructed more than 900 schools between 2021 and 2025 under the National Development Strategy One (NDS1), marking a significant expansion of education infrastructure as the country pursues its Vision 2030 goal of becoming an upper-middle-income economy.

As we approach the end of the year, I want to share one of the most unforgettable experiences from this past year in the beautiful country of Rwanda. I was invited by the Government of Rwanda, as an Arsenal ambassador, to witness the country’s remarkable work in environmental preservation especially the protection of its ecosystems and the reintroduction of gorilla families. From the very beginning, the dedication of local communities stood out, turning tourism into a sustainable, locally driven economy.
Rwanda’s leadership in addressing climate change left a strong impression on me.
Monthly community waste-collection days practised not only in Kigali but also across rural areas, show how collective action can create meaningful change. It’s an approach many countries could learn from. 🌱
I had the honour of meeting President @PaulKagame to discuss Rwanda’s long-term sustainability strategy, and I was also invited to take part in the incredible yearly naming ceremony of a newborn baby gorilla, a cultural moment that reflects the country’s conservation achievements.
The encounter that will stay with me the longest was spending a day with Rambo’s gorilla family, just a meter and a half from a silverback.
It was a calm, powerful reminder of our place in nature and our responsibility to protect it. 🦍
What moved me most was Rwanda’s spirit.
A nation that has faced immense hardship now stands as a testament to resilience and unity.
The warmth and openness of its people left me with a quiet but lasting sense of hope and a belief that renewal is not only possible, but already happening.
I want to thank the President of Rwanda, @Arsenal Football Club and Oorwanda for making this journey possible, and above all, the people of Rwanda who made me feel at home.
Rwanda will forever hold a place in my heart.
❤️ 🤍
