Hot take: Map bans in ranked should be removed, especially now with the map pool rotating. What’s the point of bringing in maps like favela and emerald plains if they are just going to be banned all the time. By removing map bans players will play and learn every map.

If your good at Siege you can pick up almost any FPS and be above average at it. If your good AIM wise at CS or Val you can also pick up any fps and be above average at it.

@z0nknR6 @Garfieldisdoc Siege aim doesn't translate to other games very well in comparison, but spamming fps games ofc will help - in siege you aim dick level coz crouch walking and altering state, in most other shooters you never go below head height - doesn't apply

@Pengu @Garfieldisdoc Fortnite and Apex both have a lot of cross over with other esports because they allow any input at comp level i agree siege has very little crossover with cs and val but i think if pro siege was controller instead of mnk you would see some crossover with cod or halo

@TheeJayCee_ @Garfieldisdoc But this is actually where you’re factually wrong? Siege’s aim and crosshair doesn’t correlate to other fps games, we don’t have pre aim head level, we have prone, crouch, leaning, movement not affecting aim? Aiming dick level is best in siege, it’s awful in valorant?

@Pengu @Garfieldisdoc Jarvis and Corey both went from Siege to Valorant and played for Faze I believe. Strategy gameplay aside, Sieges crosshair placement discipline and aim corelates very well to any other FPS especially CS and Val. But CS utility wise is the hardest to master in any game.

@VenomFrMan @Garfieldisdoc When you are a pro player in a game, it's not hard to climb above average elo in ranked ladder, comp is a whole different genre: but also mind you: those are content video's not competitive videos. Siege has a MUCH higher floor of entry obv people will do terribly, its harder

@Pengu @Garfieldisdoc What??? Their are literally YouTube videos of valorant pros trying to play siege against siege pros and val pros vsing siege pros in val, the siege pros were 1000x better respectfully, multiple pros are immortal or radiant in valorant

@Trevmak12 @Garfieldisdoc Im not saying you can't learn it - I am saying it won't translate 1:1 being a good IGL in ONE singular game, will make you a better igl in every other game, due to concepts of igl and leadership, but comparing siege to CS in strategy is just not a thing

@Garfieldisdoc I think whenever you deep dive into a game, play it a lot, at a high level, or make content on it, your brain thinks about it differently, and THAT translates to everything else, but not Siege specifically if that makes sense -

@Garfieldisdoc Sure there are apects, its not that siege has ZERO % translationrate, but it has VERY low compared to other games, and nobody whos good in siege, is good at other games ( typically ) it works the same in reverse, no games rlly prepare you FOR siege gameplay -

@Garfieldisdoc I LOVE soulslikes, yet didnt play one till 2021, and I was REALLY good at them with no practice, and I think that's due to WOW ( an mmo ) how to pick apart a fight translates VERY well from a raid/dungeon encounter to a 1v1 boss in soulslikes its comparable, Siege isnt

@Garfieldisdoc I don't think that's siege or pattern recognition: I think that's just learning games: I didn't learn that it's bad to bring Junkrat vs pharah in OW because of Siege or pattern recognition, but because its logical now that i am a better player, that hitscan would be the solution

@Garfieldisdoc You speak of pattern recognition as an all solution: also Siege is not so much about pattern recognition? if anything Siege is about adaptation/counter and on the fly thinking? Siege is INCREDIBLY dynamic, CS is more about pattern recognition if anything id argue

@Garfieldisdoc OW from a learning entry, is SO INCREDIBLY simple ( but the ceiling is high ) Siege's entrypoint IS INCREDIBLY HIGH, and the ceiling is endless - it's not user/player friendly, and onboarding new players is our #1 struggle due to it

@Garfieldisdoc I think the illusion that other games are easier to learn, is because Siege is one of the hardest in the world ( same as DOTA ) it makes others easy in comparison, not because you are superioer/smarter, but because you're used to it being more difficult, a lot of games are simple

@Garfieldisdoc Again, I disagree - No other game has heavy strategical depth in the way that Siege teaches, A siege IGL wouldn't be a good CS IGL ( nor would a CS IGL, be a good siege IGL ) Siege is so far from any other aspect of regular FPS games, that it isolates itself and it's learnings
