Longest-Serving Rep in History, Nicholas Mutu, Loses APC Ticket – 28-Year Dynasty Ends Hon. Nicholas Mutu, the longest-serving member of the House of Representatives, has lost the APC direct primaries for the Bomodi/Patani Federal Constituency. After 28 uninterrupted years from 1999 to 2027, his historic reign has finally crashed. Time to rest.

"Pls, I need serious advice. I know it's my mistake, but hear me out. A man came & proposed to me twice, & I rejected his proposal cuz I didn't have full information about his financial status. The guy was too impatient. Somehow he met my sister then went ahead & proposed her. Actually, he didn't know we're related. She accepted him so easily. They went ahead & got married. He only discovered when they came to see my parents for bride price that she's my little sister. The issue here is that the man is an accountant. He also runs businesses in the city. He is a rich man. When I ask for money from him, he tells me to pass through my sister. But when I go to my young sister, she will only give me ₦55k or sometimes 45k. Her husband gives her sometimes close to 700k from the businesses & She'll give my parents 150k & her husband's mom 150k too. But to me, she's been stingy. She doesn't know this man was actually mine. He proposed to me first. If I want, I can start telling him to go out with me. For him to propose to me first, it means he loves me more than her. She's very stubborn & boastful. On several occasions I've pleaded with my sister to equip my saloon of which it'll cost just about ₦900k to ₦1m but she keeps complaining that she's trying save money for her own business for now & necessarily doesn't want to ask from her husband... I'm actually the first born. Most times, i feel she's doing all these things especially giving our parents allowances every month as financial support and at the same time refusing to help me so i can also stand on my feet is cuz she wants to show off or probably belittle me, cuz i do not support our parents financially that much for now, since I'm not financially stable. It makes me feel so embarrassed. Please don't judge me, Every first born will understand me. I honestly feel so embarrassed & hurt as a first child. I'm truly hurt watching my sister trying to take my place as the first born. I feel ashamed, It's embarrassing & I can't help but nurse hatred for her"

Benjamin Kalu, self-proclaimed god of wealth, strutted like a peacock in designer suits and convoys. “Alex Otti? That seat is mine!” he thundered at every gathering, chest out, mocking the Governor like a man who already owned Abia state. The boasts grew louder. The money flexed harder. Until the night he looked deeper and saw the fire he was playing with. One message. One quiet realization. The lion became a church mouse overnight. Kalu withdrew from the guber race without a trace, tail between his legs. No matter how rich, connected, or loud you are, arrogance is temporary blindness. The moment you forget you’re not the main character, life will remind you — brutally. Stay humble, pride comes before fall!

As I formally declare my intention to seek re-election to continue serving the good people of Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II in 2027, I want to make one thing very clear: leadership must be built on competence, capacity, and results, not ethnicity. Too often, election conversations are reduced to questions of “whose turn it is.” But the more important question should always be: who can truly deliver for the people? Since assuming office, my focus has remained on purposeful representation, people-centered policies, and sustainable development across every part of our constituency. Through legislative interventions, motions, constituency projects, scholarships, empowerment initiatives, human capital development, and skills acquisition programmes, I have worked tirelessly to ensure that no ward is left behind and no community is ignored. From road rehabilitation projects to classroom construction, boreholes, transformer installations, youth empowerment programmes, and educational support initiatives, my commitment has always been to serve every resident of Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II regardless of background, tribe, or affiliation. Governance should never be about division. Development does not recognize ethnicity, and neither should quality representation. As I seek another opportunity to serve, my focus remains clear: - Expanding economic opportunities for our youths and SMEs - Increasing access to education, digital skills, and ICT training - Driving completion of critical infrastructure projects - Maintaining an open, inclusive, and accessible constituency office I believe representation should be measured by impact, accessibility, and results. I will continue to stand on my record and allow my work to speak for itself. I remain committed to issue-based politics, inclusive governance, and the continued progress of our constituency.

You wonder why we never have steady electricity in Naija. It is not a difficult problem to solve, but with men like this, you will understand why we have remained in perpetual darkness. Saleh Mamman was Minister of Power between 2019 and 2021 under Buhari. He has just been convicted on all 12 counts of money laundering by the Federal High Court in Abuja. The court found him guilty of diverting public funds meant for the Zungeru and Mambilla hydroelectric power projects. He and others allegedly laundered around ₦22 to 33.8 billion. Part of the money was used to buy a house in Abuja with a cash payment of $655,700 (over ₦200 million at the time). The judge described the EFCC evidence as overwhelming and lamented that actions like this make it hard for us to have steady electricity. This is why Naija still suffers from unstable electricity. While Mamman was in charge of the power sector, he left no meaningful legacy. Billions meant for electricity projects ended up in private pockets instead of delivering light. It is not a spiritual problem. It is the direct result of people like Mamman and others like him who steal money meant for power infrastructure. This corruption keeps Nigerians in darkness. This makes me so sad. Why do people do this? What goes on in their head? Why subject a whole nation of over 200 million people to this hardship just to buy houses and travel abroad? It is not life that we are living in Nigeria.

Yoruba Patriots Alliance (Y-PA) called for Law barring non Yoruba from contesting in Lagos and SouthWest region in general. Y-PA group wants SouthWest Government to enact law baring non Yoruba from contesting in SouthWest. Since SouthWest is the commercial hub of Nigeria, people tends to migrate enmass from their region to Yorubaland thereby putting stress on SouthWest resources and then affecting general wellbeing of Yoruba people. Mass migration from other region has caused over population, high cost of housing rentage and negative agendas from some of these migrants as they are trying to penetrate SouthWest Politically, raising political banners and trying to contest in SouthWest. Over population comes with cr!*me, and this is why it seems cr!mes like baby factory, fake products, b@n*ditry etc are now found in SouthWest. It is very important to take note that if this is not address, it may force Yoruba people to adopt South Africa techniques in dealing with mass migration. To prevent this from happening, Y-PA hereby call on SouthWest Government to enact this law with immediate effect to avoid inter-ethnic brouhaha. I was on a train in Tokyo. We stopped between stations. Announcement in Japanese, then in English: "We apologize for the delay. We will resume shortly." The delay was maybe 3 minutes. Not a big deal. When the train started moving again, another announcement: "We sincerely apologize for the delay. We were stopped for 3 minutes and 20 seconds. This is unacceptable. Thank you for your patience." Three minutes and twenty seconds. They measured it exactly. And called it unacceptable. When I got off at my stop, there were station staff on the platform bowing and handing out delay certificates. I took one out of curiosity. It was an official document stating that the train had been delayed by 3 minutes and 20 seconds, signed and stamped. The staff member said in English "for your employer. So they know the delay was not your fault." I said I'm a tourist, I don't need it. He looked confused. "But the delay affected you. You deserve an apology." Three minutes. They were treating a three-minute delay like a major incident. Later I mentioned this to a Japanese friend. They said "oh yes, delay certificates are normal. Trains are supposed to be exactly on time. If they are late, they must apologize." I said three minutes isn't late, it's nothing. My friend said "in Japan, three minutes is late. On time means on time. Not approximately on time." They said the train company probably investigated why there was a 3-minute delay. "They will find the cause and fix it so it doesn't happen again." I kept the certificate. It's framed in my apartment now. A reminder that somewhere in the world, people care about three minutes. © 6IX.

Empowering people with practical skills and the right resources remains one of the most sustainable ways to create economic growth and reduce unemployment in our communities. In 2025, as part of my commitment to economic empowerment and grassroots development, I facilitated a comprehensive empowerment programme for over 100 youths and women across Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II. This initiative focused on equipping beneficiaries with practical knowledge in fishery production and soap making - two viable small-scale business ventures with strong income-generating potential. Beyond the training sessions, beneficiaries were also provided with essential startup support to ensure immediate implementation of the skills acquired. This included bags of fish feeds, over 400 fingerlings, fish ponds, startup capital, soap-making materials, and other necessary tools to help them establish and expand their businesses. My goal has always been to go beyond temporary interventions by creating opportunities that can generate long-term economic stability for families and individuals within our constituency. When we empower our women and youths with relevant skills, financial support, and access to business tools, we are not just supporting individuals, we are strengthening households, boosting local enterprise, and building a more productive community. I remain committed to championing people-centered initiatives that improve livelihoods, promote self-reliance, and create sustainable economic opportunities for residents of Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II. Together, we will continue to build a constituency where hard work is supported, entrepreneurship is encouraged, and every resident has the opportunity to thrive.

Dear constituents, As part of my commitment to justice, accountability, and the protection of workers’ rights, I have formally presented a public petition against First Bank of Nigeria over the non-payment and delayed remittance of contributory pension deductions. Let me be clear: contributory pensions are not gifts or privileges. They are deferred wages earned by hardworking Nigerians who have laboured in good faith, trusting that their future security is being protected by both their employers and financial institutions. The Pension Reform Act is unambiguous. Employers are required by law to deduct and remit pension contributions to Pension Fund Custodians within a stipulated time frame. Any deviation from this is not just non-compliance, it is a violation of trust and a disservice to workers who depend on these savings for their retirement. First Bank of Nigeria, as a systemically important financial institution, carries a higher responsibility to set standards of compliance and integrity. When institutions of its stature fail to remit pension contributions as required, it sends a dangerous signal across the system and undermines the rights of workers nationwide. Through this petition, I am demanding accountability and urging immediate action: workers’ pensions must be remitted without further delay. Nigerian workers deserve dignity, fairness, and security after years of service. This intervention reflects my broader commitment in the 10th @nassnigeria to stand firmly with the people, defend their rights, and ensure that institutions no matter how big are held accountable under the law. Pensions are not negotiable. Workers’ rights must be protected. Justice must be served.
