So I had a local HS student athlete come into my office, looking for a sponsorship for AAU ball. What are the rules for that now...I mean I'm technically a BSU booster (not a big one but still a booster). Is there any issues that could cause in the future for this kid?

I’ve heard from multiple sources that Drew Fielder is receiving big-time interest from schools (despite not being in the portal) and Boise State’s chances of retaining him aren’t as good as they were a few weeks ago.

RJ Keene is leaving the Boise State basketball team, sources confirm to @BNNBroncoNation. Keene is expected to receive an additional year of eligibility, and will look to use that elsewhere. First domino falls on what is expected to be a busy and newsy next few weeks.

Our admin doesn't have a loser mindset. They know what hoops has. They know they aren't getting State help. That's why they are relentless in chasing rev streams from developing land (tailgate lot), developing premium seats, adding premium concessions & auxillary partners.

People say it's a loser mindset to not expect more from much less. It's actually the opposite. The loser mindset to expect to be a top dog without doing the hard work it takes to build a well resourced & sustainable program. Without those inputs, you'll only win big occasionally.

Boise State football is expected to win the conference every year in part because they invest/spend the most. Basketball was sixth in budget. Guess what? They finished sixth. When SDSU spends $3.7 million more, Utah State $1.2 million more, etc., can't demand to beat them.

Boise State invests more than anybody else in the conference in football, and guess what - they are usually the best team in the conference. Basketball is 6th in spending. Can't demand first place results.

@BJRains I kind of agree with Coach D here. The perception (right or wrong) is that Boise kind of "gave up". Not participating in any postseason tournaments (by choice) left a bad taste in my mouth for an already bad tasting season.

Not sure if you are joking or not? Sometimes it’s best for all involved to just move on to next season. It didn’t work this year - why drag it out for multiple weeks? Probably best for coaches to start planning for next season, and same for players.

Bad precedent to set. Boise State should compete each postseason, no matter what tournament that is. Disrespectful to the time, money, and energy that supporters of the program have put into this team.

Boise State's basketball operating budget is sixth in the new Pac-12. This is why I argue some have too big of expectations. Crazy to demand/expect conference titles, NCAA wins every year when Broncos are getting outspent by MILLIONS by Utah State, SDSU, etc.

Not at this point. Obviously went through NEZ reseat and renewed at 90%+. Reseating isn’t easy and it isn’t for personal gain…it causes a ton of work for our team and it makes it uncomfortable with fans. We have to make decisions that benefit department due to funding. I wish we could print $ and guarantee seats, experience, etc without an additional cost to fans or impact on experience. Never easy. Will always do what is best for department and those we serve. I believe in epic! Takes a TEAM!

Working through it. A lot of hurdles but it is possible. I know there are a lot of opinions on PE/PC. We need to create more assets and that requires investment. I don’t view it as we get X and pay SAs with it. I just want to invest into our infrastructure and facilities which will lead to more $$$. Spend money to make money. We need premium space in EMA and 40k in Albertsons. We have maximized all our assets. I believe in epic!

As a LONG time Boise State fan, I am STILL a big supporter of Leon Rice. He turned this team around this year and had them playing better than anyone. Still a 20-win season. Proud of our coaches. Proud of our guys. On to next year.
