A nun was assaulted in occupied East Jerusalem earlier this week amid growing concern over Israeli attacks against Christians. The 48-year-old, a researcher at Jerusalem’s French School of Biblical and Archaeological Research, was attacked on Tuesday in front of the Cenacle, a site on Mount Zion regarded as holy by both Christians and Jews. The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, which is affiliated with the nun’s research centre, said the attack was “not an isolated incident, but part of a troubling pattern of rising hostility toward the Christian community and its symbols”.

Five years ago today, I took these photos of one of our lemon trees in Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza. Two and a half years have passed since our home was bombed by Israel and reduced to rubble. For just as long, no one has watered the trees or tended the garden. The lemon tree, along with the oranges, olives, mangoes, peaches, eggplants, and so much else we grew, did not survive the terrorist Israeli attack. And yet, the sun has never stopped shining. Every day, it rises as if still searching for those trees, for the life that once filled that garden. That is what I choose to remember when I think of home: not the ruins resting over my books and clothes, but the light, the growth, and the garden that once lived there.

This is a picture of my grandfather with his parents and siblings, taken in Jerusalem in 1934. My Christian family lived in Jerusalem continuously since the time of Jesus, and our family tree that we have today can trace our roots back to around 1400 in Palestine, though it goes much further than we can track. Until 1948, when Zionist terrorists ethnically cleansed them from their city, stole their home, personal belongings, clothes, documents, books, money, and properties… and turned them into refugees overnight. Today, NONE of my family lives in Jerusalem. ZERO. Not a single one. And that is because of Israel, not Muslims.

هذه صورة لجدي مع والديه وإخوته وأخواته، التُقطت في القدس عام 1934. عائلتي المسيحية عاشت في القدس منذ زمن المسيح بشكل متواصل، وشجرة العائلة التي نملكها اليوم تتبع جذورنا حتى حوالي عام 1400 في فلسطين، رغم أن تاريخنا يمتد أبعد من ذلك، لكن هذا ما نستطيع تتبعه. حتى عام 1948، عندما قامت عصابات صهيونية إرهابية بتهجيرهم من مدينتهم، وسرقة منزلهم وممتلكاتهم الشخصية وملابسهم ووثائقهم وكتبهم وأموالهم وأراضيهم… وتحويلهم إلى لاجئين بين ليلة وضحاها. اليوم، لا أحد من عائلتي يعيش في القدس. لا أحد، صفر! وهذا بسبب إسرائيل، وليس المسلمين.

Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil was found dead after hours of searching under rubble. She was killed in an Israeli strike, after the Israeli army fired at ambulances trying to reach her, delaying her rescue. She is the fourth journalist killed by Israel while in the field since 2 March. She was a professional, kind and dedicated journalist, and always a pleasure to run into in the field.

مفيش مخلوق علي وجهه الارض يقدر يخلي البنادمة دي دمها خفيف او مبلوع بالنسبالي. اسعاد يونس اللي عن طريق شركتها الشركة العربية للسينما وبتكليف من زوجها الاردني اشترت من ورثة فنانين كبار اكتر من ٨٠٠ فيلم مصري خالص بأبخث الاسعار وباعوهم لرجال اعمال سعودين، الافلام دي انهارده منقدرش نشوفها غير عن طريق مواقع سعوديه زي شاهد بمقابل مدفوع او قنوات روتانا السعوديه.. ومفيش قناه مصرية تقدر تعرض افلامنا المصرية الخالصة.. ولما اعترض المصرين وهاجموها في ٢٠٠٤ شتمتهم وقالت ان وزراه الثقافه لم تقدر التراث ومفيش حد في مصر يقدر يدفع تمنهم يشتري، وكأنها هي اللي بتقدر الثقافة والتراث المصري ومكنش هدفها الملايين. الغريب إن الموضوع دا اتنسي بين الاجيال الجديده ولسا اسعاد يونس بتتعامل علي انها قيمة وقامه وواجهه اعلاميه من الدوله اللي سرقت تلت افلامها وفنونها.

من مشاهد الكوميديا السياسية القاتمة التى شهدناها فى العامين الماضيين، أن إعلاميًا بلغ من العمر أرذله يقيم بالخارج جعل من صبى عائلة إخوانية ممتطاة خارجيًا أيقونته الثورية! هذا الإعلامى الحاقد دومًا على مصر رغم جنسيته المصرية الورقية جعل من مشهد محاولة اعتداء هذا الصبى المسمى (برقوقة) على بعثات دبلوماسية مصرية فعلًا يستحق الإشادة والنفخ والتلميع فى ذروة العدوان على غزة، رغم ما كانت تقوم به مصر وقتها. كبر الصبى قليلًا وتمت السيطرة الإخوانية عليه وتم الدفع به فى المشهد العبثى المسمى بمؤتمر العملاء الأول. ✍️ أحمد الصغير

نشرت مجندة اسرائيلية صورا لها من منزل جنوبي.. أكثر ما يوجع في هذه الصورة أنها تجعل الفقدان قاسياً إلى حدّ لا يُحتمل. الحديث هنا عن بيت ما زالت فيه خضاره، ما زالت فيه حياة أهله، لكنهم هم وحدهم الغائبون قسراً. هم ممنوعون من العودة، فيما جندية من جيش الاحتلال تدخل المكان، تقطف وتطبخ وتضحك كأن البيت بلا أصحاب. كأن القرى الخمس والخمسين الممنوعة على أهل الجنوب لم تُفرغ من ناسها، وكأن هذا الخراب كله لا يكفي. المشهد مهين لأنّه يختصر كل شيء: اقتلاع الناس من أرضهم، ثم تحويل بيوتهم وحدائقهم إلى مساحة مباحة للغزاة. هذا احتلال وإهانة متعمدة لذاكرة الناس وكرامتهم وحقهم البديهي في أن يعودوا إلى ما زرعوه بأيديهم.

More importantly: recognition of Iran's right to enrich uranium. While Trump has not accepted those points, he has at least agreed to discuss them which is an encouraging sign that US and Iran may finally be moving towards peace.. Hope israel doesnt sabotage this.

Iran's ten points as basis for talks include end to strikes in Lebanon and guarantees that Iran will not be attacked again, lifting of U.S. sanctions. In return, iran wd open Strait of Hormuz while introducing transit fees for ships to fund reconstruction.

The edit history on this tweet shows that Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif originally copied and pasted everything he was sent, including: "*Draft - Pakistan's PM Message on X*" Now, obviously, Sharif's own staff don't call him "Pakistan's PM," they would just call him prime minister. The U.S. and Israel, of course, would call him "Pakistan's PM." Would be funny if the fate of the world wasn't hanging in the balance.
