The people who are cheering on the social media banning the UK clearly have no idea what is going on there. As a father, I agree that social media is toxic for kids. It’s actually toxic for most adults, but if you think that a government who has imprisoned adults for social media posts but covered up rape gangs is doing this for the benefit of children, I have a bridge in London to sell you. This will almost certainly be weaponized to further take away the freedoms of the British people, and although social media IS damaging to kids, it is one of the only ways they are getting alternative information than that curated by the leftist media. Just like the teens who are carrying knives in defiance of the knife ban, these kids will find a way around the social media ban. It is virtue signalling from a government who has been complicit in the destruction of British culture, and the useful idiots are cheering it on like the lemmings they are. This all seems to be a ploy to link IP addresses and online activity directly to an identifiable person to make them easier to catch and track down. The government falsely assumed that everyone watches porn and they thought they would get everyone that way. It obviously did not work as well as they were hoping so they are now expanding it. (I have always said that initial laws are just a foot in the door, those laws will always be expanding after the fact into their true original intended purpose). So their plan now is if you want to use any social media or much of the internet in any way, you will need to prove that you are over 18 which means submitting an ID. This will require far far more ID submissions which will massively expand the government database, which was the real plan all along, not the safety of children. The funniest thing about this is after all the fuss about the Online Safety Act, this blanket ban on kids using social media pretty much renders the entire act pointless and made it a giant waste of time. Which to be honest, proves that the act was never about protecting children but was really about building a giant database that links all online activity directly to a person. This database would then be constantly poured over by AI to flag "citizens of concern" to the government who may be potential political dissidents, saying naughty anti-government things etc so the government can pre-emptively act against them. Police said he was trying to sell drugs on wasteland in the city. 5 Syrian brothers Omar and Mohamed Badreddin were jailed in March this year for multiple counts of rape, including that of a 13-year-old girl. 6 Sudanese Mustafa Osman, 27, was convicted last year at Carlisle Crown court for attacking two police officers. 7 Failed asylum seeker Saimir Ferati, 26, from Albania, was jailed in 2023 for running two cannabis farms in Hartlepool and Kent. 8 Kuwaiti Hadi Hamid, 40, ran over two teens in Middlesbrough in 2017. He licked her breasts and tried to pull down her trousers as she begged him to stop. 32 Dana Abdullah, 35, killed his estranged wife in Stoke-on-Trent in 2019 after she refused to support his visa application. He had previously been convicted of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2013 and was deported back to Iran, but returned to Britain illegally. He was jailed for a minimum of 18 years and eight months. 33 Sudanese Yehya Mahdi, 35, was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison last year after stabbing a fellow asylum seeker in Nottingham. 34 Musba Missa, 22, from Niger, was jailed for three months in 2023 after starting a fire at his migrant hotel in Skegness and assaulting a member of staff. 35 Sudanese Mofasim Abdulkarim, 23, was caught last year talking to what he thought was a 14-year-old girl online and attempting to meet her for sex.
