JKR has been consistent in saying forced pronoun use is illiberal while personal autonomy over their use is fine. Forced sharing of spaces is bad. Voluntary interactions is fine. After an ICE agent tried to hit me with his car door as he drove by a neighbor came over and said they got the plate number if I wanted to report it. I just sort of stared at them and said “thanks, but who would I report it to? ICE?”

On Thursday, Council passed the Care Over Criminalization ordinance to protect public health & bring Mpls into compliance with MN law. People struggling with addiction shouldn't have to choose between a clean needle & jail time—which is exactly why MN updated our laws in 2023.

My 6th grade daughter is reading Harry Potter, she finished the 6th book very late the other night so I was already asleep. I awoke to a post it on the kitchen counter: “Mom, Dumbledore died! I’m so sad. Love, Charlotte” This small note made my heart explode. Reading great books is magical and moving and heartbreaking. Thanks @jk_rowling for writing this world for kids to love and live in. Parents, too many kids today haven’t read all the Harry Potter books. Start reading this series with them. I promise it will be one of your most cherished memories.
