Boomers don't want to hear this, but one of the (many) reasons why my generation isn't having as many kids?
A lot of millennials feel they can't depend on their parents for help the way they saw their own grandparents pitch in when they were growing up
@TheLaurenChen And studies like old folks home for 4 years olds (small study) show substantial health benefits for the elderly. So boomers don’t have to change. They will be looking out for number 1 while looking out for the little one
@TheLaurenChen My eldest daughter is 18. When she is ready my wife and I are that keen that she better watch out we don’t adopt them. We are Gen X and frankly surprised by boomers that weren’t working full time lack of enthusiasm to baby sit. Like pulling teeth.
@EricLDaugh@Yolo304741 It keeps any wars in that part of the world in that part of the world. In WW2 England didn’t need to worry about France except that if they didn’t fight the battles there they would be fitting on their own soil
🚨 IT'S OFFICIAL: NATO was just put ON NOTICE by Sec. Marco Rubio
"If NATO is just about US defending Europe if they're attacked but them DENYING us basing rights when we need them?! That's NOT a very good arrangement."
"That's a hard one to stay engaged in...so all of them are going to have to be reexamined, all of it's going to have to be reexamined."
What does NATO even do for America in 2026?
@RichardMarlesMP Correction you meant to say: “We have been shamed into halving the fuel excise for 3 months because we don’t have any better ideas, so will just copy others.”
And today we’ve released our National Fuel Security Plan.
Working with the states and territories to make sure fuel keeps flowing to where it’s needed most.
We're halving the fuel tax for three months to save you money when you fill up.
Conflict overseas is pushing up prices at home. And we know Australians are feeling the pressure.
Whether it’s getting to work or dropping the kids at school, every trip adds up.
So we’re making every litre of petrol and diesel cheaper through to June 30.
@AlboMP@heidimur What are you doing to specifically address industry and farmers. ETC. ie let petrol prices be to the consumer what they are but head off rampant inflation caused be petrol prices
@goodfoodgal But if we had enough supply the fuel stations would be full again. Those naughty Jerry can people wouldn’t come back for weeks and weeks as they have all the fuel they need. It’s not like they are using more fuel
@AvidCommentator This is hardly taking the lead. More cost filling up is terrible but that’s not the real pain. Wait for the inflation of not ensuring farming and industry isn’t looked after. Things are going to get bad and the solution is a fee bus ticket
'Free public transport in Victoria through April as fuel prices continue to climb'
So its Victoria that takes the lead on fuel conservation, not Albo...
abc.net.au/news/2026-03-2…
@JacintaAllanMP@heidimur Petrol is ridiculous and it hurts to fill up. But deal with the real pain coming when inflation spirals out of control. That is what will be devastating. What can you do now to help farmers and industry to stop prices soaring
We’re making public transport free for a month to take pressure off the pump.
It won’t solve every problem, but it is an immediate step I can take to help Victorians right now.
@noreasonspec Yeah but if we had enough strategic supply people wouldn’t panic and even if the did we could release the supply. They demand would drop and there is no reason for demand to stay high as all those people’s tanks and Jerry cans are full
Its taking more than you usually do in a reduced supply environment
If people just take what their cars need it would be different
It’s called being selfish
> you download a therapy app because youre struggling
> you tell it your darkest fears, your trauma, your diagnosis
> you pay $360 a month to keep it private
> 2 million people do the same
> betterhelp sells your mental health data to facebook and snapchat
> your therapist was supposed to keep secrets
> the ftc fined them $7.8 million
> but betterhelp is still the most downloaded mental health app on earth
> you were never the customer. you were the inventory.
@SydneyLWatson I certainly wouldn’t share it with my wife. Who needs “you said you were going to,,,,” if priorities change and things don’t get done. I have two girls also. Mostly now I say “that sounds good” or “maybe”. My word is important.
Men - do you have a "mental list" of things you need to do every day?
Or do you tackle things as they pop up?
(I'm asking because a friend and I were talking about this earlier and we both wondered how common it is for men, because it's VERY common for women)
If Aus had embraced EV adoption in 2019, rather than caving to Morrison’s scare campaign, fewer Australians would be getting slugged $2.50 a litre for fuel today.
The Liberals lack of vision ages badly, and Australians wear the cost for years.
@OzraeliAvi@ethicalmartini Do you believe the Palestinian women and men claim they were raped in custody of your people? The idf.
I guess you don't.
Because they are Palestinian, perhaps?
Ask the Zionist trolls attacking Grace Tame to provide their evidentiary sources for the atrocity propaganda claims of mass rape on October 7.
They won’t be able to do it.
All claims link back to a discredited New York Times story that the paper apologised for.
That’s all of it.
In the CBD in adelaide. Anti one nation protest chanting “racist sexist anti queer”. Not sure that would change anyone’s mind either way. The whole racist card is so over played it doesn’t mean anything
