You just have to prove you're willing to die to get a job. After being ignored for months, telling the DWP I had an interview with the Ukrainian military got them on the phone fast. Within 30 minutes they found a work coach and booked a phone appointment for next fortnight.

They had something like this at an AirBnB in Budapest - but white. Only figured it out because it would flutter when you closed the door... Trippy.

@exQUIZitely Despite having played Lost Vikings, Blackthorne was the first Blizzard game (perhaps other than Warcraft, Orcs v Humans) that had me wanting to win. It was like Another World/Prince of Persia, but with guns and it disturbed me you could execute your own kind & not set them free.

What's the first thing that comes to mind when I say Blizzard? Is it StarCraft, Warcraft, or Diablo? If you say "The Lost Vikings", I salute you. You're an old school gamer! It was their first game (then still under the name Silicon & Synapse) in 1993. Similar to the gameplay in Lemmings, this one asks you to guide three Vikings through various levels with increasing difficulty. Each of the three guys has unique abilities, and teamwork is absolutely essential. A brilliant game to kickstart Blizzard's path to fame and glory. If you played it, I am sure you remember it fondly.

@RAWigger My black fatigue is now infecting my nostalgia - I've skipped every scene with Guinan in ST:TNG simply because I can't stand the fact Whoopie Goldberg any more, due to her recent black supremacism, kowtowing to judaism and denigration of white people.

@Essex_Patriot Who fucking cares - accept that we're under communist rule - find you local National Socialists, neo-nazis and white supremacists - go make friends with muslims (they're on the same page), and discuss how you will share the country after the coup.

@GameStalgiaX 1993, years earlier, xwing. 1994, years earlier, tie fighter. 1997, years earlier, xwing vs tie fighter. 2003, "some ascii game where you shoot H's with an ansii blob". GBA was a fucking useless device and had zero good games compared to a 10 year old 486 PC that cost less.

Before any of this, in 2004, I made a Bomberman-style game called MaxBlaster with The Games Factory. It starred the editors of Italian magazine The Games Machine as playable characters — "Max" was Reynaud, editor-in-chief at the time. My first published game, over 20 years ago.

@Landeur Once you've killed someone, it's no big deal - especially if you shot them and they were just another haji who was shooting at you first. You get over it real quick, if it even registers, the boys celebrate a little, and the most disturbing thing is you are not disturbed by it.

@PRBG_Aesthetics It's things like gamepass' casual games that fill my time with short-term dopamine fixes for the time available for games... I really need to restructure my life to have all weekends and evenings for gaming, ditch the xbox, and get back on PC. Starting tomorrow. Thanks :)

Nobby was the hungriest, snoutiest hero the Commodore 64 ever produced! This game was an exclusive to the C64 and it rocked. One day Nobby is munching ants... I should mention he's an Aardvark, as usual when one of them begs for its life and spills the beans about Antopia: a mythical land where ants are everywhere and an aardvark can finally eat until he bursts. Naturally, Nobby drops everything and sets off on an epic quest… by collecting the parts for a matter transporter. What follows is pure C64 madness across eight gloriously varied levels. One minute you’re platform-hopping through a colourful prehistoric landscape spitting ants at enemies. Next you’re floating in a hot-air balloon, diving in a tiny submarine, racing a mine cart with a headlamp, navigating monster mazes, or blasting mutants on Mars. Every stage feels like its own mini-game, with silky controls, cartoon graphics that still look fantastic, and Ashley Hogg’s catchy tunes keeping the energy high. Released late in the C64’s life by Thalamus (and made by three talented lads from Northern Ireland - David Clarke, Jonathan Smyth & Ashley Hogg), it scored a massive 96% from both Zzap!64 and Commodore Format. And honestly? It deserved every percentage point. If you’ve never guided a hungry aardvark on a globe-trotting ant-hunting adventure complete with balloon rides and underwater ant-spitting, do yourself a favour. Fire up your OG C64, THEC64 or the Commodore 64 Ultimate and guide Nobby on the road to Antopia. Who needs Super Mario when you’ve got an aardvark with a snout full of ammo?
