@BWallaceMP, it's great that you're visiting but if you're truly dedicated to Ukrainian defence it would be best if you used the correct name of the country. It's not "the Ukraine", anymore than you would say "the England". #Nitpicking but it does undermine the message.

“Plain English” is clear and direct speech or writing in #English. Also called “plain language”. Unfortunately, native speakers don’t always think about how accessible their language is when they speak. Example: Why can't they write these instructions #inplainEnglish?!

If someone accidentally breaks a drinking glass in a pub in the #UK, don’t be surprised to hear people applaud and cheer! #britishetiquette

Which words do you think are the most beautiful in English? Personally, I love #onomatopoeia and words that almost feel like their pronunciation; like "brush" and "sponge". Hard to explain but always delightful!

@Flight_Refunds @_austrian .@_austrian I have been on the phone for close to 40 minutes waiting to speak to a supervisor. Other smaller airlines that haven't received €600 million in government assistance have managed to process and provide refunds. Why is @_austrian unable to do so?

.@_austrian I'm currently waiting on a refund after over two months of delay and no official email confirmation and it looks like I'm not alone. Why is it impossible to provide an estimate of when I will receive my money? Other airlines have provided prompt refunds.

Something is “relevant” if it is appropriate and makes sense at that particular time. In contrast, “actual” means "real" or "exact". #misusedwords

There is a commonly repeated rule about “fewer” and “less”: use “fewer” for things you can count, and “less” for things you can’t count. Despite this, even native speakers get confused! #englishgrammar
